AP champs buying tank and riot can't see the problem

This is not the only reason why many APs are building tanky; but it's one of them.

Considering how the new masteries are the biggest problem (and have been since preseason) and how aggressively they've defended them, I highly doubt it.

You mean yi? Pretty sure he deals magic/true damage too by building ad

and magic resist items are much stronger than armor items currently and new masteries give so much more base damage than before

(seriously fervor of battle alone is gamebreaking levels of strong when it's damage output is equivalent to two full AD items)
