Lulu 60% ban rate in high elo AND plat+ means for Riot that....

nothing needs to be done she already had -25 base hp and -30 hp shield kappa

Lulu can be balanced with numbers tweaks (though they choose not to). Yasuo can't be. You can keep nerfing him until you break his legs (which they came close to doing with the E nerf on PBE that got reverted), and he'll still feel like ass to have to play against. You would have to olaf him for him to feel fair to play against, and at that point it becomes unfair for the Yasuo player.

Yasuo is a season 3 design in a season 7 world, and it has not aged well, what with him constantly breaking ADC items when they get changed. (Phantom Dancer, woooo)

this is kind of the point of the thread

Except Yasuo is balanced, Riot already stated they're reworking him to please the playerbase's complaints, not because he's a balance issue

Sion is balanced. Yasuo is a mess of mechanics that are incredibly hard to balance, leading to a toxic experience to play against. But toxic =/= OP.

Did you just regurgitate what I said

No, you implied that Yasuo was being reworked only because he has a high ban rate, as opposed to actually having problems with his kit design

Ahristocats1 votes

hm that is what he implied, and nothing was wrong

yasuo has 49% win rate AT ALL ELO, unlike things like lee who had more than 55% win rate in high elo (master tier+ while having a big sample with 4k games or more)

Yasuo does not have any problem of balance, no one bans him above d3 or d2, actually never saw a high elo player complaining about yasuo

further more

the board itself tells you that they ban yasuo because he's frustrating and not because he's op

which is why riot is reworked him

He IS being reworked because of his ban rate. They explicitly said so. Not a single reason behind the rework is because Riot thinks he's badly executed. It's because people just dislike playing against him to the point where they can't make Yasuo a decent champion without people being upset, primarily low elo players.

chipndip12 votes

It's true but downvote him anyway because fuck you you fucking elo-litist. Holy shit stop talking down on people that refuse to get better at the game. Yasuo's op because he's a melee carry that gets kills, but on my team he's op because I can't counter-play a melee carry on my team that gets killed. Lulu's just op so if she's on my team I get to win so haha.

...and even with this sarcasm so bountiful it's dripping down my screen...that third sentence still feels so damn true...q_q

played adc darius with lulu 3 games ago and it felt good to have this broken champ on my side

still needs a nerf thresh and lulu are legit outclassing the champions who compet with them

no reasons to pick an other warden/catcher over thresh atm no reasons to pick an enchenter over lulu atm

It would appear as though the greatest support strength then is maybe shields, good CC, the ability to very powerfully enable a carry, and not being hard-countered by Grievous Wounds.

Big Lincoln2 votes

maybe if supports did anything different they wouldn't be so easily outclassed by one another

Sir Fuzzi1 votes

I think maybe having supports like Soraka designed on the sole principle that your enemy is too dumb to buy a grievous wounds item to her lane is part of Riot's problem. There's a lot of this in League, this 'I hope my enemy isn't clever and does literally this one thing (see: dodge Nid spear).'

But then what do I know. I'm the kind of scrub filth that thinks LB W has kept her out of plausible balance since release, that Yasuo double crit is the worst mechanic in the game, things like this. I come from a very different age of MOBA.

Ofc if they drop Grievous it's going to shatter self-healers into orbital bustedness again. REMEMBER WHEN AD COULDN'T APPLY IT AT ALL UNLESS IT WAS IN THEIR KIT? HAHAHAHA THAT WAS ALSO SO GOOD.

Part of me wishes balance weren't so... hot-and-cold.

This is a problem LoL in general has...

i agree, i think it's only getting worse too

riot's not really doin' so great about diversity

Riot essentially stated that average to below average players (Silver and Bronze) find it difficult to play against Yasuo, but he is legitimately awful in pro play---as in he never gets picked or banned.

So at higher levels of competition Yasuo is not only not a problem, but he's actually not even viable. If lower skilled players don't understand how to play against him, but higher skilled players find him not even challenging that implies a kind of balance problem.

I have a feeling that as long as Yasuo has some of the basics that he has now, lower skilled players will always have an issue with him, just like Master Yi, Xin Zhao and other champions of that ilk. In higher levels of play, none of those champions are particularly viable because the focus becomes more team oriented as opposed to Solo Queue which is very much ... well ... solo oriented. In organized play, it's very easy to shut down an assassin type such as Yi or even a wild fighter/skirmisher/wtfevercatagory champ like Yasuo.

I think Yasuo is Ryze 2.0 in the sense that as long as he keeps SOME of his identity he will be problematic for Bronze/Silver, but unless he retains some of that identity and is actually allowed more meaningful power then he won't be able to flourish in competitive play.

I don't have a problem with Yasuo for the most part, but he sure isn't fun to deal with when you shut him down in lane so he roams bot for two free kills.

they just release new skin for yasuo and still nothing done about his kit. The solution really isn't that difficult...they just don't want to do it (fold the passive shield into his e and increase the cooldown making him less mobile and putting a cost on the shield and making much less safe to play aggressive with)
