@RIOT Can you just bring Elise back to her roots?

CatSith··23 votes·6,051 views

Times have changed her reign from season two is over. She use to be a tank killer and now the tanks kill her >.>. I understand the nerfs on her utility but her damage is obsolete with the years of meta and item changes. With the new jungle changes Elise is being further pushed out of the jungle this season. Where else is she gonna go?

I used to main Elise Top and Mid where she truly belongs, not in the jungle with all those dirty monkeys.

I agree 100% :3

Wait what. When was this? Elise was always a jungler (a very strong one too), at least starting from when I began to play which was Vi's release. She was played top occasionally but I never saw her mid. Was it really a thing?

TwoD1 votes

Yeah it was a thing, you probably weren't around to try it out though.

Awoof1 votes

Mid was probably a thing, but nothing exceptional. But I can assure you, before she was a top tier jungler, she was a god tier top laner.

I would love to see her go the Assassin direction that they originally planned before release, but she got rushed because back then it was about putting out volume over putting out quality.

Support Elise new meta :3

In all seriousness I'd love to see Elise buffs, including those that allow her to lane (ranged top laners shouldn't be too much a problem because of all the ranged champions that are currently top...)

She's not too bad top lane atm. Its just that ridiculous AA animation that makes it hard to farm.

Luxieto1 votes

Actually, her AA is really fast. I played some ADC and then went back to elise and her autos are pretty fluid. Maybe playing her in over 500 games helped though

You're literally the first person I've heard that has said anything other than "worst AA animation in the game". Its the wind up and the projectile speed itself. I've built her ADC before for shits and giggles and even with heavy AS that thing is trash. Play Nidalee and use her AA then play Elise. You will see.

She can only do well top vs squishy champions atm. Her AA animation is fine to me :P.

Rework time... But don't expect any immediate changes. Elise has been in the dust for a while.

I agree that she could use a small buff, but I think she's fine where she is.

As soon as this season started, with the release of the delicious Blood Moon Elise skin, I played her A LOT in normals to just git gud with her.

With the sudden changes to jungle, I can see her breezing through it like it's nothing and giving her a chance to actually gank early at ANY lane depending where she is at in the jungle.

Her only flaw as a jungler is she can't do drag as early as Level 4 like a lot of other junglers, i.e.; Warwick, Vi, Rek'Sai, Yi or even J4.

What I would love to see is her damage ratios during her Spider Form W go up a bit so that her tanky build was a bit more practical than just "tank hits for your team and secure kills" method most are pushed to use or that her cooldowns were lowered a bit if no damage increase was applied.

Her sexy-human-form Q is very reliable at tearing holes in healthy champs while her sexy-spider-form Q is also reliable at finishing off low-health champs trying to escape. But the cooldowns are still a tad bit too high at maxed out.

Now, I wouldn't mind if she became more of an assassin like she was intended, but I just can't see that working too well for her early game.

These are just my two cents on it though.

I can consistently solo drag at level 3 with her with no leash.

The General "Tank" can do more damage than her if she builds tanky. She dies too quickly if she builds damage and it isn't enough to take on the "tanks" this season.

idk, most of your changes doesn't appeal to me. But i do like the idea of her actually having poison in her kit.

I wish she had poison since her q is called neurotoxin/venomous bite >.> I think it'd be need if she had a fear personally since spiders are one of the most common fears, way above horses and scarecrows and polar bears.

Varnoc1 votes

So the idea of a poison on her kit is central to her theme to you then? I'm trying to nail down what people like about her so i can focus on those things in the kit when i redraw it.

I'd also like to know your opinion on the Webs mechanics that I proposed there if you wouldn't mind.

She only has 3 damage spells and having your passive she won't be able to use all of the stacks because of cooldowns. I don't really prefer your E over the one she has it removes her hard cc and making it situational. And im not really sure what to say about the spider form E but it seems a bit useless

After typing quite a bit I came to the realization that you are right.

If we're to push her into the role of an assassin, the current application method for her Toxin is awful. You're supposed to fight for extended periods of time to infect the target, then back off and let them die. That seems more like a fighter to me.

Perhaps Cocoon could deal damage now? Seeing as it stuns and reveals it's target currently, now that it slows and reveals, it has the power budget to deal damage of some sort, but that doesn't make much sense.

With Cocoon dealing damage now, you could get 5 stacks of the current passive off on a target with relative speed, but I need to go back to the drawing board to a point with that passive I think.

Spider E is intended to allow Elise to exert map control by covering her jungle areas in webs that, if an enemy wanders through, she can quickly descend upon them from a considerable distance away, but requires her to set up the web before hand, which will act as a mini-game of sorts.

What about the Spider E feels useless to you? I'd love to improve it if I can manage it.

Its good for jungling sure, but i dont see it doing much in team fights. It also replaces one of her core mechanic that everyone loves about elise.

Perhaps make it so Elise can crawl along created spiderwebs? I have no clue how it would be controlled, but if you interact with the ending of a web you can crawl along the webs for a certain time period, then gain the current Rappel effect when a certain period of time has elapsed.

As for teamfights, majority of the time Elise would be focused on building her web. While I don't see it doing very well in yoloQ, due to lack of communication, teams that can fight within the web that Elise weaves could gain a decent advantage.

I am currently working on another version of her kit based on your feedback, I'll let you know when I've finished here if you'd like.

EDIT: Changes are done

Please don't. Her roots were top lane nidalee-esque cancer.

I don't think she's in as bad a spot as people think. I know I've fought and won against a pretty good Nidalee as Elise, and that was a very good feeling. The best suggestion I've heard for Elise, at least so far, is to put the duration of her Cocoon stun into ranks of her ult, so it scales with her general advancement, leaving her free to take her Q first and W second, for damage. This may necessitate a change to her Cocoon, though, and/or Rappel, to make leveling it appealing.

Other than that, she's fine as a hybrid tanky damager, albeit having more trouble when behind than a Fizz or Vi would.

Yes, she can do well against squishy characters. But she use to be good vs tanks and now not so much.

I could copy-paste that under Evelynn. Eve and Elise are like siblings. Both went trough forced change of roles, both are bad at new roles and only small group of whole playerbase remembers them int their prime...
