Darius's pull range got nerfed really fucking hard.

Two mechanics you need to understand for why:

  1. Old Darius's pull would always pull you so long as you started within the range at the start of the animation. The starting range was 520 (ish?) but so long as you started within the range you would get pulled. Even if you flashed, dashed, or teleported away.

  2. Movement speed is range moved per second. 400 MS is 400 spaced moved per second.

Most champions average to 400 MS at boots 2 (or when they get their phantom dancer/luden's.)

Darius's pull has a 0.25 second cast time. 400 MS in 0.25 seconds travels 100 spaces.

Simply by walking away from Darius his pull has lost 100 range. Have you been playing against/with/as Darius and noticed his pull is BIZARRELY short ranged now? This is why. I don't know if Riot simply overlooked this or didn't care, but this is a REALLY fucking big deal to Darius players. It basically feels like I require flash now or I won't ever get in range anymore. The ability is out ranged by auto attacks from even 500 ranged characters (due to game mechanics) and you basically have to walk up to melee range now to ensure the pull will land.

No it was broken before. They are making it work as intended.

Which is great, but it has 100 less range now.

  1. was bullshit to begin with.. I play zed a lot, and when I saw him casting I would quickly Shadow away from him and successfully moved away from him only to still be pulled in! which is physically impossible in regards to what his attack is supposed to do...so glad they changed that.

That's true, I agree he souldn't be allowed to do things like that. But I do believe that another 100 or so range would do the same things he used to, just avoiding these situations

And...what about it?

Pretty much every AoE spell in the game has 100 less AoE because of movement speed, if you look at it like that. Darius' pull was breaking the rule, and so was Mordekaiser's Siphon.
