Zoe and her W was a mistake

Not a salt thread, so a lot of people complain about the power of her Q, the range of her E, but here is the thing, riot actually has a decent reason to why q and E are so powerful and it completely co relates to her W.

So until you get a spell onto her W, you essentially don't have an W at all, vs the enemy mid laner, who has three tools to fight you with, you only have two. So how does riot compensate Zoe with this disadvantage? For those who don't see it as a disidvantage, let me put it into a better perspective.

Brand vs Syndra, both have 3 pure combat abilities that do damage, essentially it's like two gunmen facing off who each have 3 bullets. but if you replace Syndra with Brand, Zoe has two bullets instead of three, this is obviously a harsh disadvantage....unless...Zoes two bullets are REALLY fucking big and painful.

So essentialy, to fill the void of zoes lack of a "third bullet" Riot had to massively over tune her q and her E to make her viable in lane. Than to make things worse, it's not that her W is bad either, she can get spells off of minions. TO make matters worse, it's pure RNG so she could get something ridiculously powerful like a ignite or a exhaust or a flash or a gunblade, ORRRR she could get something utterly useless like a cleanse. (cleanse could be hard core useless depending on the situation). SO to put it short, her W is beyond unpredictable, it can be utter garbage through a bad roll, or the most broken concept ever through a good roll. Zoe is level six, a ignite drops, enemy opponent is half health, she than instantly grabs the ignite, does a easy q/q, and uses the ignite she got #gg out played.

Honestly I really hope riot sees the W as a mistake that should of never been made and takes Zoe back to the drawing board before it's to late. Q and E are fine, R is fun, W is not, for it forces the rest of her toolkit to remain so over tuned for the sake of keeping a RNG concept in her W.

Would it be sufficient to show which spell will drop from each minion (for both sides)?

This eliminates a chunk of the perceived RNG, and lets the opposing laner decide whether they should zone her away from the spell or not and Zoe decide whether she should make an effort to go for it or not.

summoner 1 ? Meh summoner 4/summoner 14 ? NOOOOOPE.

Honestly this would be great if riot fully decided to keep the concept. For if you are at 50 percent health and you see the minion have ignite, you would know letting zoe have it would border line mean death for you. That being siad, i'm still against the concept of q and E forced to be overly strong over the unreliability of her w.

She could be viable in lane without having such high burst damage. The manner by which Q and E are powerful is the issue. It's the kind of thing that just feels like horseshit when executed against you successfully. I don't think it's actually an issue of power.

It's typical of CertainlyT's champions. Personally it's really been bothering me for a long time and makes it hard for me to keep playing this game. I'd definitely play more if not for these champions. The way these champions are designed seems to convey the idea that given the right restrictions or conditional requirements, a really stupid mechanic or really stupid way of tuning a mechanic can be balanced or healthy. But every time, this is not the case. Every time it's unhealthy and ends up getting nerfed a lot.

The problem with Zoe is under all the fancy stuff it boils down to one thing: Your bottom line is land max damage Q hits, which is facilitated by the rest of her kit. Her strategy is the same as Nidalee's was back in the day: Land this stupidly powerful nuke from far away. It doesn't matter how many other mechanics try to distract you from it, or whether it has counterplay. That's her bottom line and it's horseshit.
