The thing i think everyone hates about "bruisers"

Is that as a class, they hit as hard if not harder than assassins, which now means there is no counterplay. It's solidly just tanky fighters bursting everything

Uhm... Most bruisers are divers, which are champions who lack hyper mobility (in and out on basic abilities) but have high burst damage.

Bruisers are also in general stickier, owing to the fact that theyre not casters like most AD assassins are, and basic attacks do a TON of damage with 300AD. If theres any problem with them, its that as a class they combine all the benefits of AD fighters with the bulk synergy of the general tank items. 3000HP, 120armor, 100MR, 300AD is... item 3071 item 3742 item 3065 item 3047 item 3748 + one more situational AD item.

"Why play a tank when you can play a bruiser?" has been a tag line since the renekton bars inception.

ANY AP champion with Voidstaff would like a word with you. That build would be melted in about 2 seconds by any Sustained Dmg Mage who builds Void, Sorc Boots and an AP item 1/2 way. If they build item 3156 then the AP needs to build Morello's. Plain and simple. The fact is, Bruisers as a class are the ones going in and starting fights now.

Also if you finish the Tiamat item fully before your build is 5/6 then you are doing something wrong on Renekton.

Yes, because Ekko, ryze, and cass are so popular nowadays. You just finish with a maw as your situational item if youre fighting a battle mage. Build order is of course up for debate though.

But i mean... I posted a bruiser build. AD/HP IS the bruiser way; emphasis on AD+resistances = general fighter Emphasis on HP+AD = bruiser Emphasis on both = juggernaut Emphasis on HP+resistances = tank
It just happens to be that bruisers, due to their high base damage and good ratios, make much better use of the general tank items that real tanks do. They often have more mobility and CC too.

Also, do you not know what the renekton bar is? A long time ago renekton was THE top lane champion. Instead of nerfing him, riot coined his level of power as "the renekton bar" and set out to balance future top lane champions around his power level.
