So... when are we nerfing lifesteal?

Niyumi··5 votes·910 views

When a 21/6 Warwick loses to a 4/8 Yasuo, there's an issue. But hey, lifesteal is totally healthy and balanced, right?

Warwick - item 3078 item 3748 item 1416 item 3009 item 1011 item 1031 + Warlord's - 21/6 at this point.

vs.

Yasuo - item 3072 item 3087 item 3031 item 3006 item 3140 item 1053 + Thunderlord's - 4/8 at this point

Who do you think should win that fight? Obviously the Yas, right?

so lifesteal is a % of hp returned by doing physical damage minus damage reduction

crit increases physical damage therefore increasing the the amount of HP returned

you have one defensive item going vs a crit based champ with lifesteal

hmmm who wins ?

He built life steal crit and attack speed. He deals a lot of damage with each hit and heals off of it.

You on the other hand built semi bruiser with barely any armor, of course he's gonna shred you. Score doesn't mean shit , items do, get this in your head, score is just a way of getting items.

If i was 20-0-0 ADC and didnt build any MR, im not gonna cry when a 4-8-0 burst mage like vel'koz kills me in a rotation.

Edit: Also i watched the clip, WW is a very single target focused champ, you wasted precios skill cooldowns and usage on finishing rengar while yasuo already started doing work on you. He also had quicksilver which helped against your on hit magic damage.

Youre missing the point of the thread. Yasuo has three full items. static shiv, IE, and BT.

Warwick has trinity, titanic hydra, and devourer.

By all accounts warwick SHOULD have won - his Q has something like a 4 second cooldown at max rank with 20% CDR. However due to the sheer strength of lifesteal+crits, the yasuo could OUTHEAL a champion designed to fight. It shows that lifesteal is a massive problem when combined with burst damage. And crits are sustained burst. Its almost as if weve had items in the past that were a lot less potent and were removed because they gave mages a burst of health...

Flat, lifesteal needs to not work with crits. Its a hugely un-needed type of drain-tank that simply doesnt need to be when marksman have the best itemization in the game.

Are you aware of what you're saying? You just proved my point even further. Yasuo has 3 and a half items, Core items at that, he also has attack speed shoes that offer combat stats.

WW has 3 and a half items aswell - this already shows that the score advantage is not an advantage at all. WW also has mobility boots that offer him no combat stats, he has no life steal, and has %health damage and attack speed which isnt effective against yasuo since he isnt stacking health. WW has titanic hydra but barely any bonus HP making it's passive lacklaster, AND he couldnt get yasuo under 50% health which means a huge powerspike is lost (W's attack speed). Anyway, just by items alone Yasuo has better stats than WW, he's also one of THE best duelists in the game.

What we have here is a a classic example of someone who doesn't understand how matchups work and cries "OP everything is broken" when he himself tried to 1v3

Warwick is an actual draintank. Where are the builds?

Read the post...?

nvm im boosted

ww didnt really build any sustain, so ofc yasuo would have won

Niyumi1 votes

Warwick IS sustain. My Q does 700 damage and heals me for 70% of that, my passive heals me, my Warlord's heals me, my ult heals me... that's more sustain than that Yas by four times.

Meanwhile Yasuo is healing each second because of lifesteal and attack speed, and is also doing like 500 dmg with each auto because of crit.

You hardly have any lifesteal...regardless of build and score if you focus on the items then Yasuo isn't far behind. He probably got his stuff from getting farm-fed. In that case, well yeah that's not just lifesteal, it's the fact that Yasuo can deal relevant damage due to his passive.

And to be fair you guys didn't exactly both start the duel from 100% HP, you killed off Rengar and Yasuo has his shield.

But honestly it's mostly his damage output. He's decimating you with his crit. I'm not too sure if his lifesteal scales off his crits as well or not but that could be the case.

In a nutshell, it's just Yasuo being Yasuo. If it was someone else with the same amount of lifesteal they probably wouldn't have survived. He didn't 'out-lifesteal' your damage, he out-damaged your defenses and thus health bar.

So, again, remind me why a champ who is FEEDING HIS ASS OFF AT 4/8 should beat someone who is 21/6.

I've also recorded clips of Fucksuo 1v2ing a full build Camille and a full build Rumble because of his bullshit lifesteal and absurd kit.

But, I suppose he makes money, so...

mosaickle1 votes

Well then yeah, ti's just an unlucky occurrence that you need to face a Yasuo like that. It's not hard to get farm-fed as him for sure, and so far I don't think Riot's gonna do much about it.

I'd accept that you just ran into an incredibly unfavorable situation. There was literally nothing you could do. I mean you even sidestepped two knockups (good stuff btw) so what more could you have done?

Niyumi1 votes

There wasn't really anything more I could have done. I killed three people before fighting Yas, and he just stat checks me and wins, even though Riot says they hate stat checks. I dodged his tornadoes, and by all means I should have won since I was ridiculously fed... but Yas makes money, so Riot makes sure he is never in a reasonable state.

I just wish Riot actually balanced their game like they said they do.

mosaickle2 votes

Just know it's not your fault if the stats already say you've lost

Lenkö1 votes

I'm not sure you realize the strength of his and your items. You have literally ONE ARMOR item and it's a chainvest. The rest of your build is not resistances. What makes you think Triforce, titanic, and bloodrazor are going to beat IE + BT +attack speed?

The only thing I see here is you playing a bad champion, poorly, and crying because you lost.

Lol people say the counter to lifesteal is to spend gold on defensive items. Yet without offensive items, you're also dealing less damage to the lifestealing enemy, meaning they don't need to be healing for as much with it to not lose.

Haha, seriously though, every argument which can be made for spell vamp being removed was thrown out the window for lifesteal, when item 3074 item 3812 were added to the game.

Think lifesteal isn't broken? Play this. Trundle item 3111 item 3072 item 3074 item 3153 item 3065 item 3143

I've healed for 3k HP in about 0.8 seconds against a single minion wave.

Spicy Rice1 votes

So you built almost pure hp and damage, and you expect to out duel the yasuo who built nearly pure dps?

If you were able to win that fight, warwick would be so broken, he'd be breaking Kassadins record ban rate

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

You know, I once fought a Yas in Nexus Seige as Talon. In our first duel he wrecked me.

Next time I came prepared and built item 3143, item 3123, and then finished my straight damage items.

Deleted him easy.
