Is Old champion old or are new champion new ?

First of all I'm not saying Galio, or any new champion are OP, but simply that old champion might be considered so cause they doesn't go in every direction, making them more easier to grasp, here my thought below :

Galio Ultimate : AoE Damage, Defense on an ally, AoE Knock-up, cross map mobility.

Shen Ultimate : Defense on an ally, cross map mobility.

Malphite Ultimate : AoE Damage, AoE Knock-up.

Pantheon Ultimate : AoE Damage, cross map mobility, AoE slow.

etc...

So at the end of the day, I feel Riot want every champion to have up to 4 or 5 aspect on each spells, and I'm kinda nervous about it cause it'll mean that before every champion get to this point, the more and more we'll go this path, the bigger the gap will grow between old and new champion. (Knowing that it'll take around 3~5 more years to get there, it's kinda scary)

TL:DR : New champion are overloaded and put old champion in the shadow, old champion don't get old only by themselves.

Galio and Shen R are actually pretty different.

1 Shen's is entirely global, galios is a large range but not global (or close to it really, it's probably about 1/4 of the map) - A large semi-global.

Galio's R also targets your allies CURRENT POSITION. This is a big deal. Pantheon can ult the Baron pit, without anyone there to initiate and do damage, galio can't. Malphite can do the same. Galio is followup.

Shen needs an allie too, but he appears NEXT TO his ally. This means that your teamate can kite around and move, flash over a wall to safety if they have to and the shen will still be right next to them once the channel is done. Galio, will land at the location when he casts his ultimate. His knock up has so much power because it requires a lot; you can't use it premptively, you have to use it reactively. Shen ult can be used on a stealthed up Rengar to dive on the ADCs face, Galio has to wait for him to be there and then ult, giving the enemy team more time to react and get out of the way.

They're both global/semi-global ulties, but they have very different utility.

Galio new ult is not global you will need too run past the bush in river to go to the lanes

It's true.

This post made me realize Shen is complete garbage now. Why pick Shen when you can pick Galio who has a global Malphite ult that shields allies? Then he needed another knockup on his E because...???

It is not a Shield, it is plain Percent Damage Reduction. If he uses his Ultimate on a Healthy Target, it can be a powerful defensive tool. But, if you use it on Squishy Champion (which most of the times he/she will be low on health because of the fight with the enemy), it is much weaker than Shen's Shield (which, btw, gets up to 850 Base Shield at level 16).

Also, Galio's Ultimate range is extremely low. It scales with levels, but you will never ever use your Ultimate in the Early Game from your lane to another without walking towards it.

Galio's Ultimate is much more restricted than those of the others, so it makes sense that it should be more rewarding than the others when it is used in perfect conditions.

I'm wondering if there's an indicator for Galio's ult, and if there is, how delayed it will be. Like Panth R?

EDIT : Sorry, was writing it took 3 seconds to arrive, but I don't really know what's telegraphed for the enemy team.
