tragedy of lulu is being repeated his ban rate will increase to 50/60% in high elo, while low elo will take months to follow on the ban meta

then he will be nerfed after 4 months

He kinda does need a nerf though.

He's way too overloaded, something has to give.

Thresh was designed by CertainlyT who has a thing for designing overloaded champs (Yasuo is a good example as well)

Ahristocats6 votes

thresh is not overloaded, thresh is way less overloaded than lulu braum rakan, or other supports he also has a garbage base ad, base armor, and many poor stats that other champions do not have

thresh just needs a nerf that's all i suggested a base ms nerf to meddler

Cryptocurrency6 votes

Ofc he is overloaded. He has a crazy strong engage, disengage and that lantern safe on top of freaking being ranged to poke?! I mean wtf who would've thought that's strong...

Show me another support that excels in so many things.

Ahristocats3 votes

braum lulu karma all fit to your description except the lantern

braum: strong engage strong disengage strong poke strong tankiness unlike thresh

??

Braum:

  • Q - long range slow + passive application
  • W - dash to ally + defensive bonus to self + defensive bonus to ally
  • E - projectile blocker + movement speed increase
  • R - knock up + slow zone

There's

  • Q - hook that holds enemies mostly still + optional dash to target for Thresh
  • W - shield for self + shield for ally + dash to Thresh for ally
  • E - moves enemies forward or backwards + stops dashes + extra damage passive
  • R - slow zone

Never realized how similar they were before that. I suppose at this point Thresh just has more movement based abilities which makes it seem like he's got more going for him.

you forgot damage reduction on E and forgot how braum damage are x10 higher with way more base stats than thresh

you also forgot how thresh Q is delayed, same with his ult and E and forgot that thresh CD are way longer than braum

DrCyanide1 votes

I simplified my description of Braum's shield a little, but I'll stick with it. A "true" projectile blocker would have Braum taking 0 damage and not being CCed, but he has both of those weaknesses in exchange for the damage reduction.

Can you really count base stats as being overloaded? I would think that would be "ball of stats", not "my kit can do everything".

CD and delay on abilities is more balancing aspects of an existing kit, isn't it? I think people would complain more if Thresh didn't have those delays, but I don't think they'd call him more overloaded.

i think though is that thresh is getting banned so much because is his engage yes braum is broken i wont lie but think about it braum is tanky but once he gets to late game his tanky game play will fall off because he isnt maoki with his full tank which i can say is horrible to go against for late game because his ultimate can win a whole team fight

strong tankiness unlike thresh

Can't hear through all that BS

Braum: HEALTH - 576 – 2055 (strong early) Thresh: HEALTH - 561 – 2142 (way better late)

Ahristocats2 votes

i was more focused on armor/mr

braum has 32 base mr+1.25 mr/lvl thresh has 30 base mr+0.5 mr/lvl

thresh has 16 base armor and his armor depends on souls braum has 28 base armor+4 armor per level (or more i don't remember)

the 100 bonus hp at lvl 18 from thresh are just here to make it less worse from having terrible base stats

additionally, braum has more tankiness with damage reduction from E and armor/mr from W

But he didn't have these low bases before. Those nerfs were consequences of the hands down best support kit at that time. And even then as you can see he is still viable to banworthy. Pretty much a good indicator to what his kit allows him to do and why he comes out fine even after huge nerfs.

Cowseed5 votes

ban meta?!

So we're supposed to ban a champ becaue you find it to be a problem.....

Fucking laughable.

Ahristocats2 votes

you're not supposed to do something fact is that low elo always realises that a champ should be banned only after high elo

want some examples?

corki 6 months ago lulu 3 months ago caitlyn 1 month ago and now thresh in some months in the future

ElfOfTheDesert2 votes

love the horrible KDA of this so called "high elo"... they think they good lel.

Cowseed1 votes

You can't just straight out make a champion ban worthy in low elo by saying it is. Remember that people in thi elo are not that good at the game. Corki was ban worthy 6 months ago you say? I have never ONCE come across a good corki or at least any corki that could leave an on impression on me to say he's strong.

Low elo isn't high elo's left overs. There are things down hear that are going to be strong because we can't deal with it but you can. There are also things up their that you can't deal with but their aren't enough people down here good on that strategy/champ to make it a problem.

Supports aren't banned much in low elo. Thresh is just not going to be a problem as far I can see. It's the same thing with Lulu. Not three months ago but quite recently. Like about this month. You kept yelling on top of hills that Ivern an Lulu were broken and completely dominated high elo. I noticed some annoying as af Iverns to be honest but in all honesty didn't seem like many low elo had two f***s to give about Lulu.

Fisher No Chains4 votes

I wonder why.

Right now botlane is just a disgusting "fotm lane" in which you win based on your broken picks 90% of the time. Thresh is the broken support of the month after Lulu's nerfs/her state of literal permaban.

Just saying, more than half of the bans in my games are adcs or support. I myself started banning thresh/draven/twitch or stuff like that instead of mid that could counterpick me.

But honestly I think that the problem is botlane itself. Every time you have either broken picks or useless picks based on the season. They should really work to fix this shit repeating every season.

Ahristocats2 votes

fact that botlane is marksmen+support everytime has something to do with that

100% sure

if it was any class+support (which is not a class but a combination of multiple classes that do not rely on gold) like any other moba, you would have way more counterpicks and more balance

blitzcrank being countered by a melee for instance would help him to be balanced, as hooking darius is not a good idea

TyrekGoldenspear3 votes

Ironic. Rubick could save his allies' mains from the banhammer, but he couldn't save his own.

Raven Redeemed2 votes

I usually ban him myself, but that is partly because he is a good counter to Rakan who I play a lot. Personally I think Tresh is too good at too many things, but the one thing that really bugs me is how hard he can peel off melees who do not have mobility. His Q in particular has a has really small cooldown for an ability that can be used at long range and is a displacement on top of a stun. I'd like to see it's cd increased, mana cost increased, or the stun duration decreased.

I don't want to be apart of a champion hate bandwagon, but I personally think Tresh has some really good strengths and very few weaknesses.

As a bronze I can honestly say most of us can't take total advantage of thresh. Yes when i play thresh i do some good things sometimes, but many times i just fail. I am terrible at lantern placement, or my adc is scared of it one or the other. I have been maining sona lately since i am a support main, 75% of the time i do better than thresh in bronze. but off meta less sins truck me. In bronze the only thing that matters is meshing play styles, and not rage quitting.

Was lulu just nerfed?

Last I talked to my challenger buddy not a week ago he said ivern then lulu were the most important bans.

And that's after the ivern nerfs he says they still ban him.

Daddy Ants1 votes

Thresh is too good at everything.

Something needs to give.

LightIsMyPath1 votes

Aren't lulu, karma, sona & company about to be buffed via itemization? Shouldn't we wait next patch to judge botlane state? (genuine question)

V D1 votes

I honestly wouldn't mind some damage shaved off his abilities.

ImP Shot

Thresh needs the nurf because once he lands a hook he can combo you with the adc which is why he jhin are a good combo but of course it matters i think the ban rate is going up because he has a great engage and then a burst combo but of course maybe riot can like nurf him but that would damage him and either turn into ezreal and his horrible state he is in right now but i think the win rate relies on the nurf
