New Galio is just a tad annoying to deal with

I feel like RIOT forgot that CoC was a thing when making Galio's rework. Not that new Galio isn't cool and all, but having to cut through a 23% max health shield, 40%+ damage reduction, and a CoC % max health shield is a lot of work. I get that he is freshly released just a few days ago, and that he still has some potential tweaks in the future. But currently, my impression of him is that he is just a bit too annoying to deal with.

He has a lot of defensive capability. With a MR scaling, a % max health scaling passive shield, and damage reduction. This is fine since Galio use to be like this in the past. But what is new is he damage, and clear speeds. Galio use to be gated by mana, but now with his Q and passive, wave clearing and poking is not much of a struggle as it once was. Again this is fine. He also has a lot of hard CC, which again is fine. The problem is that there is nothing really to stop him with once he gets even the slightest lead, and even is he is not doing so hot, he still is pretty OK. He also has a good amount of stickiness too. Even more so when he gets item 3025. Either he kills you, you run away (if you can), or he leaves with his E or Ult. He is either really good, or average (maybe slightly above depending on team comps) because his kit allows for options.

I do not think he is too bad right now, save maybe a slight numbers tweak here and there. Maybe lower his shield strength, add to his passives CDT, or lower his AP ratios, but nothing extreme, just enough to give him some weaknesses when he gets behind.

On the other hand he is somewhat vulnerable to physical damage. He has no inherent defense against it and is easily kited. His only gapcloser is easily dodgeable and has no ranged CC or sustain. He has damage reduction on W but it reduces his movement speed and makes him even more kiteable.

Very true which is why he is not OP or broken, just a bit annoying to deal with since he has no significant weakness, like other do. He has a little of everything and a more of some.

I tend to agree, he's a bit too tanky for the level of disruption and damage he is able to provide.

Compare Galio to Sejuani and you will see that he is actually overpowered..... or Sejuani is wildly underpowered, either way.
