Malzahar, mana, and ulting

As we all know Malzahar Malzahar is insanely powerful. Right? But his abilities and mana hardly make up for it. Need to know why. The answer is whether you'd play him over a Katarina Katarina or Teemo Teemo? And I know you would rather the others cause they are easier to maneuver and play. Malzahar, has the hardest time in laneing period. With just his Q you lose 1/4 your mana. And sure he has ways over look it but that will be after the 3 deaths you had to over look that one thing. The next is that your abilities are what activate your passive so its not hard to understand that you would just use it up quickly. But if you don't, the opposing Ahri Ahri will just use her sphere to harass you and do more in less time. And when you do get your Ult (finally) you learn that it can do some damage but over the course of 2 and a half seconds... And you can't move. Use spells. Or get hit. If that happens the spell is over... So- Yeah. I would think that this is needed to help with Malzahar and his mana needs.

  1. Make it cost less for his abilities. They are most definitely not the strongest and have so many ways to be avoided. I was thinking that they cost 10 to 15 less (except the ult of course). Because no matter how many of you know this his E only revives so much mana... Compared to a Veigar Veigar.

  2. His Ult does nothing. Its a lot like Morgana's Morgana ult only hers can do more and she can travel with it. So why can't Malzahar use his abilities while his is in affect. I mean, it's unfair to allow Veigar to just have such a ULTIMATE and then able to use other spells at the same caliber then to nerf this guy into an unwanted state.

  3. If you don't want to do any of that then give him more mana and mana regeneration. Veigar gets and added percent mana reg. per missing mana.

Other than that. Thank you for reading.

Edit

Thanks for the information. This may help with future matches. I for one really like playing as him but couldn't figure out where his strengths were.

malzahars poison or whatever gives him mana back, add dorans ring to it and you get a lot of mana early on also for someone with such opressive late power he should pay with laning, if you dont have anyone to stun m,alza you are 100% dead

Try rushing a tear or roa on him.

That's usually all you need.

You simply cannot spam spells if you want to be able to all in at 6.

If you're having mana issues with Malzahar than you're playing him a bit wrong. Malzahar's strength in early game comes from his E (Malefic Visions). That's what you should be maxing first. Two ranks in that plus a single doran's ring and you can clear the wave easily, focus on last hitting and still harass the enemy. And that's with just a single E. With the mana return on your E you'll consistently push the enemy to tower and never have to worry about going oom. If you're still having troubles mana wise get a second doran's ring and request blue buff often.

Never spam his Q (Call of the Void) because it's not a reliable source of damage. Building magic pen items first make his E hit like a truck. Not to mention you'll ruin your opponents farming when they have to worry about the E jumping to them constantly. A Malzahar with Sorc shoes and a haunting guise is a menace pre-6. Not to mention the voidlings from your passive aid in the damage. They'll focus anyone who has your E on them whether that be a champ or minions. A single voidling and a single E can clear a wave and drive an opponent to hide under tower.

Post-6 Malzahar gets to a level of strong that's scary. If you've been poking and farming well with your E then you can drop an enemy to below half health easily. Once that happens drop your W (Null Zone), ult them and then drop ignite on them while in mid ult. That's probably a guaranteed kill.

Malzahar is a very patient champions that relies on his farming than insta bursting someone. It requires you to plan which abilities you're using and time your passive with your E for maximum wave clearing and maximum efficiency.

In teamfights his role is still the same. Use your Q to harass people or even better get an AoE silence on the team. Drop your W which does deceptive amounts of damage to those who stand on it too long. E the enemy minions and then watch it jump onto any of the enemy team and drive them from the fight. Use your ult to catch people out and have your team focus and burst them down.

TL;DR Learn to maximize the use of your E and voidlings in conjunction with one another. Malzahar is a stationary mid with decent sustain and strong pushing power.

You're missing the point of his ult. The damage is pretty great, but that isn't the primary function. It's mainly used to get in a substantial amount of damage from his W and E while his opponent can't do anything about it. Theoretically, by the time you've ulted, your target is already being destroyed by your DoTs... What his ult does is basically transform some of his damage over time into (basically) instant damage. It doesn't matter that it's a DoT if the enemy is completely immobilized for most of the duration. What would you even do if you COULD use your other abilities? Your only non-DoT is your Q, which is mainly used for the silence...

And as a side note, I don't personally have mana problems as Malzahar...

#2 Malz Master Rank in NA and Europe

Dude Malzahar is a mental champ where yu have to anticipate and bait, and yu destroy, the best part the makes this easy is that yu are squishy and always a target to make your team not have aoe damage and focus in a team battle... if yu can kit like a boss the other team won't start a team fight that quick unless yur dead......item 3165

Malzahar, has the hardest time in laneing period.

Malz's excels in the laning phase. Its the team fighting stage where he starts to drop off.
