Can LoL ever be as good as it used to be?

Or is it lost hope, the game was considered the best pre season 5 and went downhill since season 6. Can this be fixed or will it forever get worse?

i personally its back on a rise. I think season 6 was riot's lazy year and the game went down. but its looking bright with all the content riot is pumping out.

I thought it was it's worst at the beginning of Season 5. I almost quit playing that season, but I've really been enjoying this season and their effort to change things. Their last few reworks, Galio, Urgot is looking fun, and Poppy rework a while ago, all were great.

What are you unhappy about in season 7? There are more diverse and viable champs than before, more items, and better build paths for items. What made pre season 5 so great? And please don't say the smite bonuses.
