Placements: Wait? Or does it not matter?

I've completed 2 of 10 placements (because I didn't realize they were placements). I traditionally wait until the initial fervor has died down, but I'm wondering if you think it matters. Should I wait? I've already resigned myself to Normals only on weekends because I personally feel the quality takes a nose-dive from Friday to Monday.

IMO, picking a stable environment is the best thing you can do unless you tend to abuse current OP cases. I'm a support main and supposedly Redemption is super busted right now, but I hate the item so I'm going to wait it out a bit. Lee might be broken and Vayne might be broken, but I can handle those things. It really just boils down to how informed you are and whether or not you think you'll do well considering the current game environment.

Thanks, man. I'm a super try-hard. If I've done anything that makes me off my A-game, I won't play. But as a support player, that often isn't enough. I've been trying to build AP after sightstone, but I'm maining Zilean these days and the results so far are inconclusive.

I honestly started looking up my ADC EVERY match to see how good they are and who they play. Whenever I have an ADC that is below G3 or looks iffy I have been picking Brand and so far things have gone pretty well. ~60% of my games are decided by my mid lane / top lane feeding and the effort put into bot lane rarely matters in those cases. If you really wanna climb, I would recommend a different role until about Plat4. In my experience, you can trust just about all ADCs at or above that level. Then just spam Janna.

EDIT: I only got to G4 last season but I played with Plats pretty consistently in norms and occasionally with Diamonds. I'm not the best, but I can definitely tell you its hard being a support in Gold.

That's so depressing.

It's what it is. The support role is heavily based on the vision game and relies heavily on the rest of the team. You can shield and provide vision for an ADC all day, but if they don't make good use of it you won't do as well as you would have simply killing people as a mid laner or top laner.

Personally I do them as soon as I can. MMR is fluctuated, so you get a little more per win. Also, right away is when all of the people higher skill are doing them, so you are less likely to have baddies on your team.

LOL. Right away is when 95% of the community is doing them, you have the chance to get some of the worst people in the world.

And you have the same chance to some of the best people in the world.

The only question is whether the mean of mmr of placement players is independent of time. Honestly, I would say they are non-independent but are negatively related because the people who know they are good will have to confidence to go in head first whereas the timid people will wait.

I went 8-2 in my placements, some of the easiest games I have ever played. I am talking like 16 minute inhibitor.

I looked up my allies of each game, they were all Gold, enemies were high silver gold.

It still has similar rank people with each other. Making the games fun, and barely no trolls.

I would say that it is better to wait. However, I recently started playing ranked because I got tired of the volume of dodges in draft pick.
