At this point, I just give up.

Obviously, I'm just bad because some random asshole can come along, click on me, and instantly delete me.

I'm bad because I can't prevent my "team" from feeding their asses off and doing horribly in teamfights.

I'm bad because I can't slap Beck silly and make him put some actual effort into his game.

I'm bad because I insist that the easier champs should not be rewarded for being easy.

So why do I even bother? No use even trying. I honestly just queue expecting losses. Very rarely disappointed.

Everybody is bad in one way or another, sometimes more sometimes less, and some more so than others. What this means is that there is always room to improve, and you can't fault anyone else for not being perfect either.

Focus all your attention on improving yourself, and master what you enjoy. Every champion has bad matchups, which is good not bad; as you master this champion(s) you enjoy the most, you will figure out where it falls short. Your mastery can surpass this hurdle, you can play knowing it has a disadvantage and not let the enemy abuse it, you can pick something else, or you can complain about it; one of those options is not helpful, so try to avoid it.

Niyumi1 votes

No, there is no improving when even mathematically the champs you hate just dramatically out perform anything you enjoy. Oh sure, I can have fun playing someone like Liss, but why play Liss when I can play Annie and do the same thing but far, far better, with far more damage? Why play Kassadin when I can just play Fizz or LB and do the same thing far easier?

There's just no point in playing the champs I enjoy when they are all just subpar next to the money-making flashy whale pleasers.

So, I can either just give up on having any kind of fun, and play the champs that put me to sleep, or I can continue playing the champs I enjoy and just not be able to compete in the slightest.

When you are convinced you can't improve, then you no longer can. Best of luck.

Niyumi1 votes

Alright, tell me how to win a matchup where you have a fraction of the damage potential and safety, and have an entirely predictable kit that is relatively easy to dodge, and have much shorter range.

Then, tell me why I bother playing the champ that has that issue, and why I don't just go play some boring as hell, easy champ that I can go stomp games with with little to no effort.

Deep Terror Nami3 votes

That's an awfully broad question that requires a specific answer. I recommend you speak to someone that mains the champion you want to play. I can tell you how to hit an Aqua Prison, but I can't really answer a question like this very well.

You play the one you enjoy because you enjoy it. I thought I was going to have to abandon Support entirely and main Mid to climb, but I stuck with it and focused on mastering Nami and I've made it to Plat now (and have not likely hit my current peak). I was able to dedicate myself to her because I actually enjoy it, and due to my mastery I know how to play against her counters. However, mastering it does not mean you'll no longer have any issues against its counters; what it means is that you won't fall on your face just because you got counter-picked. You don't have to always win your lane, you can go even or just not feed. This is a team game, and sometimes you just have to leave it to them.

Even all that aside, you have made it to Gold. You have obviously improved some since you started. Double down on your best and favorite champions and you'll surely continue climbing. Even if you feel stuck, don't fret; everybody has a place they belong, and there is no shame in belonging in any Rank.

Well what's the match up?

Also, not every match up is winnable.

But you see, the problem is this:

Easy champions can use their full potential easily.

Mechanically difficult champions take more skill to use to their full potential.

(generally in lower elo easy champions are favored for that reason)

But easy champions are really simply countered.

E.g, Azir vs Annie.

Annie has the oneshot potential with some hard cc on it.

Azir has godly aoe dps, decent burst, situationally good cc (wall), but mainly: He outranges Annie.

Against a good Azir, only chance Annie has once Azir can have soldiers up all the time is a flash Tibbers, otherwise she won't even be in range for a Q.

Niyumi1 votes

Except that, you know, Annie can delete Azir with two or three buttons, and there's nothing he can do about it since they're all targeted and instant cast AoE. And really, why play Azir for sustained damage when you already have ADCs that do the damage of an assassin's entire kit every two seconds?

It doesn't matter if a harder champion can potentially do more with their kit. All it takes to win the teamfight is that ult from Annie. Azir can't match that.

Against an Annie who knows how Azir works and how to play the game, he doesn't stand a chance. He is dramatically out-gunned, is all skillshots whereas Annie is entirely targeted, and has a long windup whereas Annie is instant death. You wait for Azir to use Q, walk up, use your Q, and walk away. Or, you just sidestep his Q and kill him that way. Not hard to overcome Annie's "weakness."

So, yeah. Remind me why I would play Azir when I can just win the teamfight in a quarter the time it'd take Azir? And when I can win lane far easier?

Really.

Also

You know the meaning of 'kiting'?

Annie is never gonna get in range of a good azir. Even a flash could be countered by a Q+E if Azir's quick enough (or E+Q). Azir can hit her from 3 times her q range. And if he used Q to poke, hes kinda bad...

Alright, go lane against an Annie the same level as you. See what happens. She wins that lane very, very easily.

hm? azir should win annie in lane

TyrekGoldenspear4 votes

I have. Both of us Silver.

Murdered her in laning by poking her too far down from too far away and flashing when she flashed.

Murdered her in teamfight by having peel and shredding her team continuously while she was forced to flash combo once and was quickly focused.

There are a lot of us here willing to help you, but you seem too engrossed in your pity party to notice or care, throwing passive aggressive rebuttals our way when we give advice.

If you keep this up there will be less of us willing to help you.

MaeDoSan1 votes

if you say you won lane against annie then the annie was bad , everyone knows azir is lategame Azir has better teamfighting but annie is not meant to teamfight , she has to get picks

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

I understand that, but the point was to tell OP that their statement that Azir cannot win against Annie is false.

Thank you for supplying clarificaction as this normally doesn't happen.

TequilaZombie1 votes

Azir can poke Annie down quite easily in lane tho. It's not like she can do much to him wihtout losing 50% of her health bar before even getting in range.

MaeDoSan1 votes

Nope , not in early game azir does not have the mana or the cooldowns to do this and annie gets rod of ages first item so is more tanky her q and w have a range of 625 which is quite high

MaeDoSan1 votes

if you think a azir E+Q combo is faster than flash then there is no arguing with you

Angry Monster1 votes

you cant instant cast after flashing anymore, so yes there would be time.

Ok first off flash is faster than azir q-e i have no idea where you get your information.

Second annie is frustrating to fight because her combo lacks counterplay. The only true counter is "dont be there" Thats essentially true but what you have to do is pick syndra and fuck her up

Yah, the don't be there is 'outrange her' :P

And i meant that if the annie was too slow then yes, azir could get away, and even if he's clipped by it if he manages to get his dash off hopefully he'll be far enough away (though I wouldn't bet on it)

Itemization is super important in lane matchups too.

I often rush a bit of MR against Annie to ensure I survive her level six burst. After that, she's easy pickings. Just melt her from range.

The perfect AP item for wrecking Annie? item 3001

Penns1 votes

Kassadin is kinda better than Fizz and Lb atm tho lel.

Niyumi2 votes

Half the damage, no CC, far riskier kit, more expensive build, easier to counter in lane... Yeah, "better."

Penns2 votes

With max ult stacks, Kassadin combo has almost the same base dmg as a perfect Fizz combo + better scaling and he doesnt have to hit a skillshot first. And he can get his damaging flash cooldown to ~3 sec mid game, 1.1 - 1.2 sec late game..

Niyumi2 votes

With max stacks, he's goinna cast his ult once or twice and then be totally unable to do anything for the next 10 seconds. Fizz and LB do not have that drawback.

Penns2 votes

Well then it does like 200-400 less dmg, he can still oneshot if he is ahead and, like I said, 3-almost 1 second cooldown longer range flash that does damage... Of course you gotta have some weaknesses with that.

LB and Fizz dont really need to scale. If you have played them just once you'd know that kass doesnt have good damage until he scales up hard with 2-3 full items, fizz and lb have their damage from the beginning.

They do their job better and faster. If you've played kassadin once youd know he actually gets bullied out of lane rather easy.

His Q is made to absorb magic damage yes but thats because he needs to go full melee to do damage. Most melee champs have some form of survivability over their counterparts ranged.

And i do play this game, people have more than 1 account.

Kass doesn't get bullied out of lane unless you understand how to position and lane

He needs items to pump dps with two items but before he gets them he can poke enemy and using q to trade

His trades spike up at lv 6

If you understand how to lane vs lb and fizz there should be no reason kass should lose

Nobody said kass wins/loses against lb or fizz. Nobody.

We're discussing whos a better champ.

Can't define better when choosing a champion is situational

Try playing in rank then you'll get your answer

Kass has a higher win rate bc he is safe and more easy to play than the suggested one

Lane control screws fizz For someone who relies on early kills to be effective

Lb suffers from the same issue but can lane better than fizz

Usually I come to these posts to tell people that it's their own faults and that ELO hell doesn't exist but after looking you up, you're an exceptionally talented player and your KDA's are way better than mine.

You will start to see the enemy team throwing more often if you don't tilt mid game because of others. Trust. Me and my friend duo'd from g5 to plat in a couple weeks because we started to do all the shotcalling and we stopped tilting when our teammates fed. Instead of flaming we motivated them. I even won games where I had people intent feed on my team.

Niyumi2 votes

Obviously I'm not talented. Considering I had 4,000 games in silver, and continue losing in gold. Can't even put up a fight.

Doesn't matter if I can see all the mistakes the enemy team makes, because the champs I enjoy just can't capitalize on them or compete with the absurdly broken champs I'm always against.

I'd also like to point out that the majority of platinum elo are one tricks with at least 200+ games on champions and not all of these champions are super viable in this meta, but they are exceptionally good at them in any given matchup.

Your champ pool may be a bit too large. You should focus on mastering the most viable for now and learning to play them against counters.
