Doesn't even build SIGHTSONE WTF it's almost as if her kit doesn't work like it's intended, why is a support depending so much on items giving AP and cdr when malz/zyra/brand are supporting better than her WITHOUT items?

The only way to make her work is going full ap at the cost of utility like vision via sightstone, will something be done for this? no clue

Sona is my second-most played champion and I'm D4 and do almost the exact same thing. I skip item 2049 if I can buy a item 3057 instead on a back, though I'll eventually get SS, unless you're really stomping a game.

AP is soooo good on Sona since she scales really well utility-wise with it as well as being able to one-shot squishies like an Annie would.

yes but she's a support, she isn't supposed to scale well, or maybe she should scale well but she is expected to be usefull without a lot of items that's what supports are and that is why they don't farm and are able to go bottom

How is that going to work in Diamond? Wouldn't the enemy jungler abuse the loss of vision?

i don't have any choises, but to do this if you skip sightstone and go for sheen you can bully hard the enemy adc i always said sona's poke was garbage but that's because i never built sheen, always went for a full utility build going for sightstone at first back

and after this the enemy jungler is going to abuse the lack of vision which is the point, Sona is trashed either way it's horrible

You do so much damage to the enemy bot lane that ganks are pointless. The damage is unavoidable too, unless they just don't CS. So you're either forcing them off the wave and causing them to lose gold/xp, or you chunk them. If you've got enough gold on a back to get item 3057 you really should just get it and press your advantage much harder.

Also, between you and your ADC item 3340 provides a surprising amount of ward coverage.

I never disagreed with you lol. You need to read what people actually say not what you think/what you wanted them to say.

I think that Sona needing to build a lot of AP is a problem too. However, I think that also the problem is that she has SO much utility in her kit (she pretty much has everything in her kit). Yet it's all mediocre (because she has so much) so it all has good scaling.

They usually do build item 2301 though, just not every game. Not immediately clear what differentiates the games wherre she builds that versus ones she forgoes it.

I would be playing AP sona, but in bronze and silver she needs to be a utility tank, mainly because most bronze-silver games have someone who gets a tank champion but doesnt build any armor, mr or hp, then wonders why they get 1 shot >.<.

you build ap sona because that shit as no counterplay and oneshot an ad carry

the amount of time as twitch i got oneshot by a sona that had the exact build this dude had is so high i can't remember, good thing that someone picks sona like 1 time over 1000 in diamond

one, a multi-target stun come level 6, 2, most enemies do not want to get anywhere near her because of her high early game burst

three, sona has an on-demand movement speed boost and if she has exhaust, no one will get close to your carry unless they're just outrgith able to out-trade your compositiion

so lets say pantheon somehow managed to ult onto you...you probably would not get away if the opposing team used that to their advantage, but you never know because sona is capable of some serious shutdowns with her ult

Song of celerity is awfully trash without a lot of AP and at least like 4 points into it which means level 17/18

WildAP Sona changed his handle to LuxSaysUMadGrin last season because it was his opinion that Sona can't get past Diamond. Still plays Sona. Only plays AP Assassin.

Wait what? WildAPSona always pops up in my threads telling me that Sona doesn't need buffs and that i need to stop playing a midlane Assassin as a support

of course i already know, but i'm too attached to utility Sona, i don't know why riot is making her unable to support without ap items

Yea, he plays her as Midlane Assassin. He says her kit isn't meant to be a Support. He was frustrated so he started playing Lux because the community more readily accepts her as a Mid Laner.

No, Sona isn't "meant" to be an assassin, it's just that with how the balance team left her it's the only viable way to play her now

It's not that she's an "assassin" per se. It's that while building to be an assassin, she gets the one-shot power of Annie or Zyra while STILL adding a TON of utility to her already utility-packed kit.

She's basically the ultimate support with a lot of damage. She offers all the utility you need, including the best peel of all, DEATH.

Sightstone is a chore for full aggressive AP Sona to build, she makes use of so many little items like sheen and revolver, it's a pain in the ass to keep slotted and you would much rather want FQC because it reveals and provides easy pickings for her

AP Sona also carries like a monster when ahead, vision is still very important but Sona can just make use of yellow trinket, she often gets her neck broken when she wards as a glass cannon

I usually still get Sightstone in my Sona games, unless i manage to get some early kills to snowball on then I go full 1 shot build and just carry the game
