Daily reminder that Fears are the only hard CC that don't lower Scuttle Crab's Resistances

Hecarim has bigger problems if he's Ulting the Scuttler.
First thing I did when I saw Hecarim there was go 'HECARIM ULTS THE SCUTTLE?' Then I scrolled down to post my comment and saw yours. I'm not the only one! Wewt.
Given that Fiddlesticks is literally the worst champion to try and take Scuttler with, he definitely needs this.
Have you ever tried to take the crab with singed?
Singed has his Fling to lower it's resistances, so he can at least autoattack it to death in a semi-timely manner.
I think I have. Singed is the closest competition (if I may call it that) to Fiddlesticks in terms of being horrible at taking Scuttler, and in my opinion, Fiddlesticks is much harder to take the Scuttler with, and it isn't even close.
What Fiddlesticks has to do to take it is either:
Drain it to death. He has to stand still to channel Drain, and the Scuttler runs away from him. After the Scuttle Crab leaves Fiddlestick's Drain range, Fiddlesticks has to chase after it, likely halfway across the river. And Fiddlesticks cannot kill the Scuttle Crab in one Drain channel, at least in the early game.
Dark Wind/Auto attack to death. This also is a bad option because Fiddlesticks doesn't build attack damage, and Dark Wind also isn't enough to kill the Scuttle Crab in a couple hits either.
Singed at least can run around with poison active and auto attacking it to kill it at least somewhat effectively, but Fiddlesticks taking the Crab is completely ineffective.
If you do it right you can get it so you can run in a circle with it while it walks in your poison cloud.
i wonder who's the easiest champion to take scuttler with?
I think Nautilus is one of the easier champs to take Scuttler with. He can deal solid enough damage with his W's DoT to efficiently kill the crab, and has enough CC to lock it down too.
It's not the fastest, but he's really easy to do it with.
Ashe. Keeps it slowed, massive autos. Plus crits.
Probably Nidalee due to the snare and burst damage. Though Mundo does it pretty well, even if he can't lower its resistances.
Anyone with high attack speed and the Krug's buff does it very easily as well.
Hands down, no contest, bar none. Enemy coming? Send it packing with a big scary roar.
ROAR. SMASH. BOOM. It's that easy.
By the way, here's a first world problems problem. My
starts attacking the scuttler and scares it INTO the enemy team. You guys know that it runs away from you right? So why would you push it into their
? Just because he's blind doesn't mean he isn't going to steal it and give his team a huge advantage in this Dragon contest we're about to see. Instead, how about you just wait one second and let me body-block roar that son-of-a-bitch right into that there wall? Yeah, that wall closest to us and farthest from them. How about that?
Nah man, you forgot about
. He really has a hard time getting that crab.
Given that Fiddlesticks is literally the worst champion to try and take Scuttler with, he definitely needs this.
takes Scuttler Crab almost quicker than any other champion if you fear the crab near the end of his walk and drain him. Positioning and Timing, he does it in one drain.
on the other hand is one of the worst junglers to try and take Scuttle Crab with.
Luckily all junglers can take Scuttle crab relatively easily with the Krug buff.
Quicker? Maybe. Easier? You need good positioning of the Scuttler to take it, and you probably are not going to know where in the river the Scuttler is.
Warwick could probably take the Scuttler out easier than Fiddlesticks can because Warwick can walk with the Scuttler.
Ever try with
? That is absurd
Fuck I always ulted crab as
to kill it faster
My whole life is a lie
As a side note,
's pillar knockup doesn't reduce it's resists either. =/
does 1 true damage. Thats enough for you :^)
Hecarim can use his E knockback and Volibear can flip it, so it's not much of an issue for them. I cannot deny that trying to kill Scuttle Crab as Fiddlesticks is quite aggravating though.
I get that you just listed champions with fears but Voli's throw reduces resistances so he really shouldn't be on the list.
Atleast fear actually cc's the crab. Taunts dont do shit. The crab literally jerks randomly for half a second and then walks off, without resistances reduced.

yep, jerks for half a second... Quickie rickie. Sorry had to say that...
Udyr can take scuttler in seconds. I think hes probably top 3 in that regard
Edit: The fact that a debate exist in the section below is why I asked the 2nd question lol.
Silences are hard CCs. They wouldn't be so rare if they weren't.

I just cant.. Wutt?
I just cant.. Wutt?
Silences ARE hard CC since they stop channels
Hard CC refears to CC that unables control of the player's champion for a brief duration. Airborn effects(Knock up/back/down),Suppression,Stuns&Forved actions(Charm,Fear/Flee,Taunt).
Soft CC,CC that unables some aspects of the player's champion. Slows,Blinds.Snares/Roots,Silences....
Silence&Polymorph are sometimes viewed as such because of their ability to negate channeling abilites, but aren't hard CC.

Hard CC is a term that predates League, it refers to breaking channels
I never used it in that way.Maybe that's your definition, but it isn't for me.
According to LoL wiki,Hard CC in general are suppression, forced actions, airborn effects and stuns.
There is another ˝system˝ that you mentioned. If it cancels channeling effects=hard CC.
Wanna hear why silences don't count as Hard CC? 1)The target is still able to control movement and AA(who they target),unlike with stuns, suppression effects and froced actions. 2)Silences only disable Flash&TP,while all other SPs can still be used.
- Scuttle crab's defenses are lowered using displacements.
- How do you define Hard CC? Some people define it as anything that can stop channels. Some define it as lose of movement. Some define it as no movement.
Hard CC is anything that stops channels aka anything that directly impairs your movement. The term predates League by several years. Fears/Silences/Stuns/Charms/Roots/Taunts/Entangled are all Hard CC. All of these hard CCs reduce his resistances and technically Fear impairs movement.
Soft CCs are Slows/Blinds since neither remove your ability to move.
Well it is very obvious that Fears usually slows... when they don't... good bye Master Yi with ult on... XD

Yi is still forced to run away from you if you fear him. Its funny.
Who's the most scared of them all? It must be Master Yi... just look at how fast he is running away XD
A silence still lets you move
Hard CC is anything that prevents you from doing anything... Like Charm, Fear, Knock ups, Stuns, Suppression, Taunt... all of these CC prevents you from controlling your champion While things like slows, silences and blinds still leave you with some control though of course they can still be crippling
Is the resist reduction even an intended thing? Why is it in if it is intended?

Its intended. He has high resists and health and it forces you to use at least 1 CC CD in order to take him quickly.
Thanks for the info!
Unless you're an autoattack based champion, then you just shred it quickly anyway.
yeah its intended. its fucking retarded but its intended.
It makes sense though or bot lane would just walk up and take it over and over for an exp lead and the game shouldn't be about who gets to kill a camp/neutral the most often. Not ever.
Laners should be leaving lanes to provide ward coverage and roam not to contest neutral camps that the jungler isn't asking help with.
it would be like season 2 where taking golems was as simple as breathing air and graves and leona was the most broken shit on bottom side of map because of it.
\used to be MF+ leona bot but we all know what riot did to mf's whole kit... -vomits in mouth-
its fucking retarded but its intended.
It makes sense though

Why would you fear it if its already running away??
Why would you fear it if its already running away??
so you can actually kill it in a reasonable time frame
mean while voli's E get on it gives it 6 seconds of fear instead of 3
I feel these daily reminders are becoming oddly specific.
I main Skarner jungle, and to be honest he is the easiest for me to get the scuttler with. Between all the movement speed boosts and his natural passive its really easy to take the scuttler, i can usually run ahead of it, while im attacking it. even early game it takes me a max of 7 seconds to take it by myself. i usually clear the entire jungle, kill one scuttler and then back for my first clear.
The scuttler is so absurdly tanky, it makes for a huge gap in what champions can effectively take it and not.
Takes at least 3-4 times as long if you don't have any hard CC.
voli can just toss the scuttler for the armor reduce tho
