Its not Assassin damage that annoys me...

Its their mobility... it reduces the mechanical skill actually needed to play these champions. If you screw up on most champions... you die. Not the case with Ekko and Zed, both of which have insane mobility tools and Ekko gets a free heal just for pressing R (Which is a Training Wheels champion if you ask me). These simply are not good designs for assassins because they are toxic. A good design would be something like Katarina who ONLY gets her mobility tools if she actually kills somebody.

I am really tired of seeing assassins with mega stupid mobility and safety that other champions simply do that have. They should have the mobility to get in a fight but SHOULD NOT be able to escape at will if they fail to kill somebody. It is simply unfair compared to other classes of champions. Complain about mages all you want but they have to be mechanically perfect or they die...

Meanwhile Ekko can just R away when he makes a mistake... Talon can jump over a wall... Zed can ult and take away 50% of a targets HP and then blink away... Kayn can go THROUGH walls...

Which one is the harder class?

Its not damage creep that I have a problem with, its mobility creep and the unfairness between classes.

while i agree that most assassins are too safe i wouldn't call katarina a well desined champ, she basically oneshot everything in her path once she close her item 3146 even if she didn't hit her passive once, she's resourceless and can spam a lot of dashes, plus she can reset them with her Q/W so she doesn't need to kill, she just needs a target for jumping back

mobility+burst dmg=faster games. Faster games=money for riot. For a company that disses capitalism they sure do love their money.

Agreed.

If X assassin can dive in the center of my team and kill me but die in the process, that makes sense.

But if they can do it, AND escape with full HP, only to return to the team fight 7 seconds later with all abilities ready, that's not right.

Says Katarina is good design... yikes

Their mobility isn't an issue on its own, but it's turned into an issue by all the extra damage being added to the game. They can apply the "3rd party" damage sources like runes/dusk/ignite very easily, and this is why they're annoying.

Zed on his own is actually pretty trash, but he'll still do half your health with his kit if the other half can be taken by ignite/electrocute/coup de grace/dusk.

I think as long as theyre balanced overall they should be there because it adds more diversity to the game if there are these annoying champions

A big problem is the amount of external damage sources available, combined with terrible defense options. To no one's surprise, a class who can go in from extreme range, deliver them reliably and get back out to safety is pretty damn good at abusing them. There was a time when one could respect, for example, a Zed killing them by flawlessly executing his combo. Nowadays he can completely whiff his Q, supposed to be his main damaging spell, and still 100-0 someone because Duskblade, Ignite and runes more than compensate for it and be out to safety before you know it. Counterplay which legitimately could be "outplay the assassin", reduced to "don't exist within a screen's distance of them". I even feel Akali would get much less flak if not for those external damage sources. In theory, she needs to apply hit-and-run tactics and have multiple procs of her passive to kill someone. In practice? Gunblade+Ignite+runes. Also Katarina, whom you mentioned as fair design, has no problems deleting someone without picking up a single dagger because... Gunblade+Ignite+runes. Think I'm starting to see a pattern here.
