A WW update? Why?

I don't play WW, but it doesn't seem like anything is wrong with him. At least with the other scheduled reworks there are known issues. Moreover, how is he in front of and ?

He's a pure melee champion with no way to close the gap between him and an enemy without his ult, he's completely useless pre 6 and while that button is on cooldown. No play, no counterplay, no anything. I would say he's actually worse off than both Urgot and Galio because those champions at least have some abilities with gameplay involved.

He is in front of Urgot and Galio probably because they actually had enough ideas locked down that they felt confident that he could be finished. They don't want a champion to show up on the schedule unless they're mostly certain it won't get icebox'd which means they probably are all working behind the scenes on ideas for all the other champions in need of an update, but just haven't yet had a good idea of what the champions should look like if they were to be changed into a healthy, fun champion.

He's also being worked on by CertainlyT. So his update will be very interesting to say the least.

Warwick has an incredibly one dimensional kit, a skill that isn't really worth levelling at all until the rest of your kit is leveled (E-Blood Scent) and for being a jungler werewolf who's main focus is auto attacking specific targets, he scales on AP. He's a complete relic from the beginning of the game who is in dire(wolf) need of a visual upgrade and a kit that reflects the current times. He was chosen over Galio and Urgot because Warwick is supposed to be the introduction jungler for new players. If the introductory character look great and feel modern, it goes a long way for gaining more players, more than that abomination and gargoyle ever will.

Also, of note, one of the names that has been thrown around quite frequently for a rework next year after Warwick is Evelynn. Several threads regarding relaunches have included her specifically, most notably by Meddler.

Primarily his niche-ness. I mean, I think Mid mians are a bunch of trend-following anime watchers to begin with (primarily because they should be taking Galio against Zed every time) but he's not a very good anti-mage in this season. He's better at being anti-assassin and he should be updated to have a clear position in the game.

He has a 55 or higher win percentage vs nearly all mages. How is he not an anti mage.
