She is ridiculous to lane against.
Furthermore, she looks like a product of a design team trying way too hard to be original or unique. She is underwhelming as far as being an interesting champion.
I ban her every match, literally as shes the only champion I can't handle at top.
But I don't always get to ban. Turns out, most people ban her anyways.
I think she is way too strong in lane and needs to be adjusted.

She has no CC to lock you down, if you have a drain you'll dodge her abilities, and if you lose a trade you just have to back off because Illaoi has no chasing potential either.
Seriously, Illaoi doesn't decide when to trade, don't give her the chance, she is also gank fodder, and if she can't get ahead her impact is ridiculously small.

Basically this.
Everyone acts like her passive is the best thing since anal sex, but in truth it's almost complete garage. Except for that nice 5g you give to the enemy!
Her E is so easy to manage to. Especially since their is an indicator that show where the tentacle will spawn. So walk away from it and than break after it attacks.
Also, her Ult, just walk away from it. Don't fight, just walk away. Than when it's over, come back and slap her face off since her tentacles are so easily dodgeable, and her Q takes a full minute to cast!
kyocrisis2 votesIf fed she can be strong, but she's got no cc so a smart lane phase will render her basically useless unless her team is packed with cc. In which case it's a matter of your team not bunching all together in team fights.
Stained Spear1 votesNot sure where the hate is coming from I went 10-0 as voli jungle a few games back and almost lost because I couldn't fight a 3-10 illaoi. Her teamfight is ridiculous and I think the damage needs to come down a bit.
