The Devour upgrade is being nerf-raped down ; from 40 damage per hit on upgrade to 25. THAT'S A MASSIVE DOWNGRADE, this goes double considering they're nerfing Trailblazer item.
Basically, @#($*&% you to anyone that thought Devourer would supplement the loss of Feral Flare. sigh.

This would be a great balancing point... but Riot rarely balances with surgical precsion, instead they balance with a sledgehammer.

Of course, it's only on pbe right now and may not go through or may be tweaked. Riot stated with the new jungle that they wanted to set it up so that they could adjust it as they needed, like this case, and be able to tweak things to where they think is good quickly and easily.

Stupid argument. Of course it can "reach the same numbers it could before", but the rape-nerf of 40 to 25 is massive overkill.

Yes, it's a nerf, because it starts off with too much damage. It's the exact same amount of magic damage FF dealt after it's nerfs, except devourer gets to keep it's attack speed now, so all around, I'll take a small hit to the starting damage if the item is still all around good.

Kuroi861 votesI wouldn't say it's unnecessary. It's still a considerable power spike and can scale into late game the same as before. Fifteen damage may seem like a lot, but in the larger picture it's a miniscule amount.

SouL1ess1 votesI think devourer is overnerfed on PBE. Perhaps the champion kill/assist stack gain can be increased, or the damage lower to 30 only.
However I think it's agreeable that Devourer needs a nerf right now (or more importantly skirmishers). But both got nerfed too much. Skirmisher dealing DoT when it has a limited duration itself will hit it harder than necessary. At least separate the on-hit like Nautilus - 50% or less as an on-hit effect, the remaining damage in the DoT.

Because of this, Devourer and Challenging Smite have been lowered and normalized so that they are effective all around regardless of how much attack speed you have.
