We need a "smite monster only" button for dragon/baron.

if you have red or blue smite, and the enemy team stands inside the dragon, it is impossible to smite it. The cursor favors champions over monsters when things overlap.

There are 2 solutions to this:

  1. A "target monsters only" button you hold down when you smite, similar to the "target champion only" button.

Or

  1. A checkbox in the game options. When checked, smite will not target champions inside the dragon or baron pit within X range of dragon/baron at all. In order to override this (if you actually WANT to smite a champion), you must use your "target champion only" button. Targetting will work like normal outside the dragon/baron pits.

I think number 2 is the better and more viable option. It's really annoying when you try to smite the dragon, and literally can't, because 5 people are standing on it.

EDIT: since dragon can move out of the pit, I edited option 2 to make more sense. X would be some number that must be calculated to make sense.

I've personally never experienced... nor my jungle main friend. Either he has god like smiting accuracy or you need to work on yours. This is just to oddly specific of a thing to add to the game and probably will never happen.

it happens a lot and is incredibly annoying, at least for me and my two friends who are also jungle mains

if they are any where near the drag and aren't some champ with a ridiculously small hit box, you will smite them instead of drag and then its a toss-up for whoever gets dragon

Sometimes it's not even about the massive hitboxes. Someone with a normal hitbox will blink/flash/dash straight into dragon and on top of your cursor the moment you smite him. If it hasn't happened to you yet, it will, eventually. And it's fucking annoying.

and a basic minion only keybinding, not just champion only

It was a good idea on GD, it's still a good idea here.

Let's have that bound to the left mouse button, since it doesn't really do anything. That or selfcast, but I could at least imagine a situation where someone casts while trying to check an allies items and messes it up.

I actually have my "target champion only" button bound to mouse button 1.

You can do it if you manually edit the input.ini file.

It's a little glitchy though (you have to shift+click on monsters and minions to see their stats; you MUST use quickcast for targeted spells if you want to use them on monsters/minions because you can't click on them; move the cursor over the map while in battle and holding the button down? have fun dying as your camera moves to some random location)

Why is this downvoted? You disagree with my custom keybindings? lmaoooooo

Just out of curiosity, is it possible to select the dragon and cast smite on its portrait? I know you can do stuff like that with spells on ally portraits, I wonder if that is a possible work around.

I haven't ever had that issue before, because frankly Baron and dragon both have MASSIVE hitboxes, so it is really hard to miss.

Play Sion. Get Elixir of Iron. Shove Baron into your crotch. He is now immune to smite.

Ah, that is the issue, I'm always the one playing Sion lol!

then buy trailblazer?

then buy trailblazer?

bro..... trailblazer is only good on some champs. Champs who aim for big plays always go for frozen. Trail blazer is for champs with low sustain in the jungle,

then buy trailblazer?

Sure. If they buff it again.

Otherwise I'd like my combat stats ty.

If it's really about overlap. Maybe just make it so the priority is : Major monsters and minions (which the game already differenciate from minor ones) > champion > minor minions.

Or we could just have smite be on a toggle system, where when not targeting anything with Skirmishers or Chilling smite, then pressing and holding the smite key, the icon for smite will change colors. For further clarity, the small square in which the smite icon rests would be divided in half which will tell you what smite you have, and mode you have it on. Obviously, since Trailblazers is purple, and only useful on monsters, one half of the square should be purple, then the other half would be whatever color smite you have. As for the modes, you have the full color square which can smite champs and monsters, and the half-and-half, which will only smite monsters. Note, that with the half-and-half mode on, you still have to at least have your mouse over the large monster you want to smite. But you won't accidentally move the mouse over big ol' Sion's hitbox and smite him instead.

Ooh, I didn't know Chogath could offer EVEN more objective security, I'm so gonna do this.

Chogath Ha, I'm as large as the dragon, there's nowhere you can click him that won't smite me, now allow ME to ult him for 1100 true damage.

I like your idea. It doesnt happen very often to me, but everytime it happens it is really annoying.

+1, such an annoying issue, because I'm 100% sure I'm hitting the damn dragon but it hits the Champion.
