As a Support player:
Aegis is a reactionary purchase against heavy magic damage. It's nearly always purchased by the support or jungler, ie low-income players. As such, the Null-Magic Mantle is a critical base component, since then one gets Magic Resist before completing the item.
So, if you're proposing
=
+
+ g
then I'm OK with it.
However,
=
+ g
is NOT OK, since it denies the ability to buy the MRes in increments.
he specifically mentioned
, so it's pretty clear he meant

It was sufficiently ambiguous that I felt obligated to drop a comment.
Not to be rude, but you were just nitpicking lol
It hasn't been done because the only thing Riot hates more than Supports are Tanks, and this item is for both.
This would actually make it worse. You need the MR and frankly aegis and locket are awesome items that are incredibly gold efficient as it is. They don't need to change them at all.
Bracer + Null Magic would get rid of MR. Kden.
Welp, Aegis is absurdly powerful in teamfights. The so-called "gold efficiency" of the item is 85%, but since it grants 670g worth of stats to every ally, it can go as high as 225%.
Personally I'd advocate this recipe, but perhaps with some changes to total price and base stats.
I'm pretty sure this sukishoo guy is just trolling at this point. If you go back to his very first post, it sounds like he thought we wanted to add bracer to the aegis recipe without removing ruby and bead, and then he somehow dug himself a hole so deep he could no longer say anything that held logical meaning, so he's just spewing pointless insults now. I'd say stop wasting your breath on him and just report his posts if he keeps spewing this filth.
Hah. You're not doing anything different by posting garbage like this. I showed enough. If you can't see the issues behind your own thoughts then that's your problem.
You can't "remove" those two from the recipe anyway, because they are still part of the bracer and would be required to build that. Learn how these things work before speaking.

Nitpicking the way I phrased it now, even when the meaning is perfectly clear? Okay. Change that to "add bracer as an intermediary between ruby+bead and aegis." I swear, you're not even trying at this point.
Get over yourself. If you can't say what you "mean" then don't say anything in the first place. You're the kind that are "trolling" as you say, since you obviously can't even tell what that truly is.
So you want to make the build paths longer?

+
... so what's the point really? Sure it would add another +200 health & +50% health regeneration to the final items but the paths...
The idea is to condense the slots necessary to build up to Aegis, assuming you don't build up all of the gold in one shot.
But overall it's still making the path of getting there even longer then it already is.
But overall it's still making the path of getting there even longer then it already is.
It really isn't. You're spending the same gold and getting the same stats, but you can take up fewer slots in the meantime. There is literally no downside to making aegis build out of bracer+mantle instead of bead+ruby+mantle. If you've ever played support, you know just how important those item slots are to you, even more so than to other roles.
Yeah it is. You're picking up the same things... unless you just go for
which is 600 gold.. where as
is 580. So you're adding 20 gold to it as well. The price of the final items would have to go up slightly.
or the combine cost to make Aegis can drop by 20 gold to compensate for the increase of 20g for the components
No, the combine cost to make Aegis would be adjusted downward by 20 to compensate.
With the way riot tends to change things, I'd doubt that. They'd totally make it MORE expensive.
When have they ever made an item more expensive because of something like that unless they were intentionally trying to nerf it? I want a specific example with a link to the patch note.

You don't understand how combine costs work, do you? This isn't adding any additional stats to aegis whatsoever, so they would just reduce the combine cost of aegis by 20 gold to make up for the increased cost of the component item.
Crystalline bracer exists solely for the purpose of cutting down on component items in the final recipe of an item. Every item in the game that builds from ruby (except sightstone) gains at least +50 hp, so since bracer gives... +50 hp, it can fit into literally any recipe that uses ruby+bead, without increasing the final cost any. Aegis's combine cost would just go down from 820 to 800, which is a nicer number to boot.
You do realize that there's + 50 health difference between the Bracer and Ruby right? So there is a change there in stats.
You do realize that there's + 50 health difference between the Bracer and Ruby right? So there is a change there in stats.
There's also a +50 health difference between ruby and aegis. What the fuck is your point?
Look at these items. Look at them. http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Ruby_Crystal +150 hp http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Rejuvenation_Bead +50% health regen http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Crystalline_Bracer +200 hp, +50% health regen http://leagueoflegends.wikia.com/wiki/Aegis_of_the_Legion +200 hp, +75% health regen
There is no reason why ruby+bead cannot be interchangeable with bracer in the recipe for aegis. There are no additional stats that would necessitate an increase in the total cost.
If you think that then you need to understand these items better. Ciao.
If you think that then you need to understand these items better. Ciao.
So you ran out of arguments to prove you're "right" so you're just going to fall back on this as a defense? You, sir, have shown full-blown ignorance here today. I've shown you the numbers; you can't argue with them. Just man up and admit you misunderstood. Admitting a mistake shows far greater wisdom than pigheadedly insisting you're right even when proof of the contrary is right in front of you.
Here, I can even show precedent where they changed the recipe of an item, and kept the total cost the same:
Patch 4.5 Morellonomicon New recipe: Fiendish Codex + Forbidden Idol + 630g = 2200g Combine cost reduced to 630g from 765g (total cost unchanged).
This is the same sort of thing that would be happening with aegis. The purpose is to cut down on the number of extra items in inventory while you're waiting for the item. The item's final stats and cost both remain unchanged, since the stats of the new component item does not exceed the stats of the final item, even if the new component has slightly more stats than the old component(s).
If you still don't get it even after that, I give up on you. You're a lost cause.
You're the ignorant one. I showed you the things that change too and how it would ACTUALLY end up.
You're the one that's a "lost cause" as you say.
Sad.

Sad.
What did you show? That bracer has the same +50 hp as aegis does? I have precedent to back my case up. All you have is your word. I'm done with you.
You're still sad. I mine was right in what Riot would do if they did this because it's how they work, so get over it.
Crystalline Bracer +200 health +50% health regeneration
Aegis of the Legion +200 health +20 magic resistance Aura UNIQUE – LEGION: Nearby allied units gain +20 magic resist and +75% health regeneration
If Bracer they were part of it you'd have to add the "+50% health regeneration" to it as well and they won't because it already gives off an aura of 75% Aura to allies... so adding MORE for the person that uses it as well, would make it severally unbalanced.
For being a NA player, I can't understand your English. Could you explain it something more? Thanks.
Begin Old Spice joke Look at your posts scores, now back to his, now back to yours, now back to his. Sadly, your scores aren't his but if you stopped making claims without Riot's item tweaking methodology in mind and switch to Leaf of the Lake's argument style your score could look like his. End Old Spice joke
I will try to explain this as thoroughly as I can so that there's no way you can make the claims that you do lest you do so stubbornly without any claims or evidence to back up your claims.
Premise: Riot likes to compress item purchases and lately has taken that whole process one big step further with the Negatron Cloak and Chain Vest changes. Quality of life changes for defensive itemization has taken a step forward in priority and doing so with aegis wouldn't be out of the question. Riot has made some nearly identical changes to items like Guardian Angel, each step of the way keeping the items final stats and build cost identical.
Claim: Riot could change Ruby Crystal (400) + Rej Bead (180) + Null MM (500) + (Combine: 820) = 1900 into Crystalline Bracer (400 [RC]+180[RB]+20=600) + Null MM (500) + (Combine: 800) = 1900
Without changing any item's stats, this would still have Aegis granting more stats than the sum of the ingredients. This would not change the stats Aegis provides thus Riot would not increase the item's total cost (As is the standard with Riot's item tweaking methodology, exemplified by the Guardian Angel changes previously mentioned).
**Benefits: ** This would allow players to get the same amount of defensive stats once they build Aegis, but use less item slots in the meantime. This would allow Crystalline Bracer to build into more items, allowing people to change their build at more points without selling items and wasting gold.
**Downsides: ** Looking at the recipe for Locket of the Iron Solari in the shop may appear cluttered. As with all item changes, there's the remote chance bugs could arise once the change is implemented.
**Personal Opinion: ** I am in favor of these changes as they are ultimately a QoL change that have no significant negative implications. Edit: And seeing how your response neither admitted your fault nor addressed any of my actual claim, you forfeit your point and admit that you are trolling. To any non-troll that reads this, I insist you stop responding to him as he clearly understands that he's wrong.
Hi. Just downvoted you.
Why?
You're a freaking moron.
This change wouldn't alter stats at all--it would just reduce the end combine cost and the incremental stat increases. Honestly, it would probably make for a really nice QOL upgrade so you can make a later choice between
or
, etc.
Hello, my name is Inigo Montoya. I too downvoted you. Why? Because your logic is flawed and instead of producing solid evidence to your claims, you're resorting to mudslinging and claiming that Riot would be forced to add to the total cost of Aegis when they clearly would not with the way the math works out.
And really, even if they did increase the total cost of Aegis by 20g. Whoopdie fuckin doo. I'd have made that 20g in the time it took to type out this sentence.
Dude, it's having the bead and ruby crytal build into bracer and then aegis building from bracer and mantle.
i.e. Crytal+Bead -> Bracer Bracer+Mantle -> Aegis
Not what I believe you're thinking Crystal+Bead+Bracer+Mantle-> Aegis... which is just ridiculous dude... of course that's not what he's trying say...
It's like saying: we're going to increase the attack speed of Dagger from 12% to 15% (patch v4.10), which of course must mean that Runaan's Hurricane's attack speed increases from 70% to 73%.
Runaan's Hurricane's attack speed received no change in that patch.
meh.
There are only 4 champs that use it in any scenario.

One of them is completely useless in the current meta of super mobility. Another can't normally afford to build it with their tank items. A third is the spawn of all evil (in league). And the 4th doesn't normally build it until super late game.
Probably a safe guess Riot has forgotten it exists.

And a lot of people who aren't lvl 10 yet will build it on just about anything.
Probably a safe guess Riot has forgotten it exists.
Did you mean to post this in the runaans thread?
I'm not sure if the point went over your head, under your feet, or to your bad eye so you thought he was actually talking about Hurricane and not just comparing its component tweeks to the proposed component tweeks for Aegis.
It's like saying most heavy magic resistance items now take longer to build up because null mantel cloth now upgrades into negatron cloak.
Longer, maybe. But it will take up fewer slots in the meantime, without changing the total cost of Aegis at all.
It's like saying most heavy armor items now take longer to build up because cloth armor now upgrades into chain vest.
Dat logic.
interesting idea...would be nice if the Bracer built into anything that doesn't have mana for the non-mana champs, and aegis would fit -- edit: nm, corrected regarding warmog :P
Bracer builds into two things,
(no mana) and
(mana). It already does what you'd like to to :p

oops :x I so seldom build warmogs I forgot about it :)...nm! haha
Everyone that doesn't play
forgot about it.
Well... It could become too easy to build.
Any item in the game with such a powerful spike in utility is relatively difficult to build for one reason or another; Brutalizer, Spirit Visage, Warden's Mail, etc
Not saying I'm against the change, I in fact desire for it to happen, but that's one fair reason I can come up with. The most you would have to do if it presents an issue (which I sincerely doubt), is mess with the total cost or a slight change in stats.
