Please check your summoners before a game starts.
I am going to have to support a miss fortune who accidentally took smite instead of heal in my silver 5 series. rip me

She'll get every cannon minion!
Plus you guys should never lose a Dragon / Baron. Probably beats that dumb summoner heal, esp on an ADC
No. Heal is taken on ADCs for a good reason, it's better in teamfights and laning phase. You get nothing out of the jungle items as an ADC except for cheesy bloodrazor shit, and the speed boost and heal effect is much better on an immobile ADC then smite is.
But it could be useful in laning phase. Grab a red smite item and you get 20% reduced damage for smiting the enemy ADC. That with the 40% reduction from
, you could still get fed enough that not having heal in a team fight wouldn't be as bad.
It's really not. you lose every monster based stat the item gets. Thats a lot of gold down the drain.
Well, lets look at the pro's and con's. Assuming you get the whole
, then...
You lose:
You gain:
doing 20% max health per second. ~10% for most other ADC.)stats which you gain, but are pretty much useless on ADC:
So, you do still gain some good stats, and technically those stats you "lose" still technically are used when the ADC steals some JG camps. Which lets be honest, ADC do that every game. Also, that 50% attack speed is the highest AD attack speed item you can get, only tied by
, which is AP.
Now, don't get me wrong, I don't support the idea of taking smite ADC. I'm just saying that it can work if you don't just ignore it.
i knew you were going to call me out for the stupid. What do you think im saying? IM SAYING THAT HEAL IS BETTER. ITS NOT THAT HARD TO UNDERSTAND
I'm not arguing that, I'm arguing your comment that
You get nothing out of the jungle items as an ADC except for cheesy bloodrazor shit, and the speed boost and heal effect is much better on an immobile ADC then smite is.
I'm making the argument that you can get some good stats out of bloodrazor.
YEAH. that falls under the cheesy bloodrazor shit.
the other stuff is useless

smite kog is pretty good, with bloodrazor he is crazy :D but need really good protection, like kayle, soraka, or lulu
That also qualifies as "cheesy bloodrazor shit" xD
I recently had an Amumu jungle that didn't take smite D: Stayed with him the first two camps and healed him 2 extra times and he survived his early clear, and we ended up winning the game without anyone flaming :3
I try to remind people but don't always notice. I also get flamed literally every time I ask people to check...
ouch
Guess the final 30 seconds should magnify your summoners/runes, right now their really small and barely noticeable. Its hard to glance at and see you made a wrong choice when the icons are so small.
Also check your teammates summoners. We are all human and forget to change them if we had a different role the previous game.
i told them but they were afk or something
An ADC taking smite is hardly the worst thing that could happen. In fact, the only role that NEEDS a specific summoner's spell is Jungle. Everyone else can pretty much find some way to utilize any spell they bring along.
it resulted in her dying repeatedly when heal would have saved her
it resulted in her dying repeatedly when heal would have saved her
That's her own poor positioning then. If she knows she didn't have heal, she shouldn't have been playing as recklessly as if she did have it. That death could have easily been averted by more defensive play and better positioning, and not necessarily a direct cause of not having Heal.
yeah that poor positioning when we were dived by the jungler and bot lane under turret and she would have survived if she had heal.
The MF went 12/5/12 in a 38 minute game, that's hardly a bad score, it seems like despite accidentally picking smite she tried her best.
she most certainly did not do bad, but she could have died less.

I wasn't upset with the MF, just trying to point out that factors other than not having heal could have caused that death, especially since the OP is trying to use that as the poster child for his campaign to enforce specific summoner's spells on roles other than jungle.
Yeah I understand. I just wanted to give you that info so you got a bit more context to the situation.
She went 12/5/12 in a 38 minute long game and she only died 5 times, is that really dying repeatedly?
Yes, considering she would have died less if she had heal. i am not flaming her. I am pointing out that heal is a good idea to take on ADC.
I hear you, and I get the frustration, etc. It just seems that saying "died repeatedly" is a bit exaggeration since 5 deaths in 40 minutes is actually fine.
Why didn't she build a jungle item and utilize the option to have 20% less damage dealt to you when smiting enemy champions?
becasue all the other stats on the items were next to worthless in lane?
60 AD, being able to contest dragon/baron/scuttle/stealing buffs/etc is worthless?
No. She/he just didn't make the best of the situation and adapt. God forbid they even decided to build Bloodrazor.
Because we can't contest it already with a jungler?
or you can dodge the jungle item and build like a normal fucking adc.
You must be fun in games. Ruin all the positivity and even attempt to try anything different that could possibly benefit the team.
You freakin' realize that buying a jungler item on an ADC means they can help take objectives SO much faster than just one jungler, right? I never said to RUSH a Jungle item, but ffs. Getting 60 AD and a Smite on Champions option is better than getting nothing and having smite be useless in lane.
Don't be a prude.
Dude. It was a ranked game in silver 5. In my series. That is not the time to break the meta and try out new shit.
Dude. You said they had taken smite by accident. It's making the best of a bad situation. It's also Silver 5. Unless you were being demoted to Bronze I, take a chill-pill.
Nevermind- I can see you're in Silver 5 for a reason.
I literally said "please" and i didn't flame her once the whole time. I was her support. Bot lane went fine.
I made it a habit after picking champion to pick corresponding mysteries and summoners. Plus it bothers me they revert back if a lobby gets disbanded
The first thing i do in the lobby, even before pick intent ends, is set up my summs. It's immediately after you find out what position you are playing anyway, so just form the habit and be done with it.
Midlane has a lot of variety though, so untill you know what champ you're on/against, you can't be sure about summs all the time. Even support has some sway between Exhaust and Ignite, again teamcomps depending.
I'm pretty sure that most, if not all people, myself included, check summoners. However, being that we aren't computers, make mistakes. I have forgotten to get items a the start, or gotten the wrong items (only once), or forgotten to change summoners. Just because we forget once, does not mean that we consistently forget.
If you aren't a computer, what are you?
Computers are too mainstream. I'm a human; you probably haven't heard of them.
:)
