And no the "CC and kill him" thing doesn't work because of his build. Everyone builds bruiser yi who basically only dies if he's 1v5ing, but then you realize he has a team. like really, the amount of times you can fuck up on tank yi but still become a god later is stupidly high..

He just said the only time Yi dies is in a 5v1. But yes, Yi is incredibly stupid right now, as are Xin Zhao, and Jax. You can keep them down as much as you want, as soon as they get that sated, they are automatically back in

Late answer - melee range, stuns and roots (you guys say snares). I've never seen a CC/utility heavy team lose to a Yi in like a Yi is carrying his team scenario.
My first ranked penta kill was on Yi.... I got it because they used all their CC on their initiation... which I just waited out. I proceeded to melt a xerath, Jayce, adc then finish off their weakened tanks.

RavenMagus1 votesTo be fair, those items are also fairly cheap. The real workhorse of the build, Guinsoo's Rageblade (which is when Yi starts doing infinity damage), is only 2800 - quite a bit less than the usual high end big ticket damage items. Only the Hydra is really expensive there.

ZeeWolfZ1 votesI am sorry, there is a real counter to prevent yi from reaching this goal? I can reach level 6 by 5:40 in-game time. While majority of junglers don't scratch 6 until 2nd buff. By 7:30 mark i'll be running with 3/0 score and 800 gold away from rageblade. It's so easy to get fed with current yi.

He heals every third attack so that you can't kill him. His Q, E, and R all apply CC and don't need to be aimed

IIRC, old Fiora built carry, but now she is just as damagey and builds half tank too. Really lame and discourages carry builders when you could just play these guys and still melt face

Yi is actually pretty stupid powerful. But he's a champion who can be shut down early, easily. And with coordination, this turns it into a 4v5 for awhile. High risk, high reward. When it reaches a certain point, Yi becomes incredible. But until he reaches or snowballs to that point, he's really really bad. And very punishable.
So yes, you can complain about him being CC'd and still killing your team. But to be fair, with the counterplay he has to prevent him getting there for a long time and for ending the game easier and earlier in addition to his counterplay even when fed that relies on a little communication, it's just the nature of solo queue to fall prey to him.
