Why are champ's penalized against towers for going hybrid?

You deal either your total attack damage, or your base attack damage plus 40% of your ap, which ever is higher (and minus its armor either way, and unaffected by penetration). Most hybrid champs still build AS, so they aren't too bad at taking turrets, but they are strictly worse at it than if they'd gone AD or AS AP. This is part of the reason why ADC's are in every game without exception, as I whine about here. (RiotRepetoir commented in it)

Jax the tower destroyer seems unaffected despite being a hybrid. You wut m8?

He doesn't really build AP outside of items that happen to have it. Mostly just TF.

Generally speaking that is. The reason he wrecks towers though is his passive and his AA reset. He has everything you want in a champion to kill towers.

Why should they be rewarded?

Hybrid champions tend to build Trinity Force, which is a pretty good reason really.

I mean, trinty is decent, but so do AD's, and they destroy tower's alot faster. Mostly this just makes ADC's even more meta.

You also have to remember, there are exponentially more ADs/APs than hybrids.

IDK man it looks like Akali seems to chunk the shit out of towers.

Because hybrid damage from stats has always been in a bad spot (hybrid damage off champion kits hasn't)
