Sona's Fantasy

League of legends is a fantasy game. It's fun playing champions who bring something super cool and unique to the game and have character that you can really, live through in a way. We have champions who have fantasy's that are fun and interesting and fit the gameplay. At the same time, some champions don't really fit the fantasy type play style we'd expect.

There are a few champions I could bring up about this issue but the one I really want to focus on is my favorite champion in the game. Sona The Maven of Strings.

Here we have a support character who is a "bard" type play style. These types of classes have been known to influence fights and rally team mates with their music, inspiring them in and out. But what we have is a champion who to inspire you have to walk into melee range in order to so to your team mates. A champion who is a support, yet falls so heavily on needing ability power to scale into anything. Can Sona please be looked at and be put on the list for an update, please. She is my #1 most favorite champion. I have her at rank 5, I have multiple skins for her, yet I feel like I can never bring her into ranked when other supports can bring what she brings but so much better.

Sona is one of the supports who is sort of the jack of all trades. She brings poke, Healing, and cc to the table yet the only really note worthy thing is her poke early game and her godlike teamfight ults. Her heal and shield are great for trading in lane, but in teamfights it's hard as ever to get the shield to people who need it (especially if you have an ardent censor) since the heal hits 1 ally, and you can't even decide which ally. Her Q is really good too to put on allies, yet you have to walk close to them in order to do it. If a Sona late game walks into a teamfight late game next to champions she needs to give these buffs to (meaning not the adc but maybe someone whose positioned closer to the teamfight) she gets blown up in a second. I mostly understand the need to change around her auras from how they were before (invisible power and what not) yet I don't think this is the solution. Especially her e. Her e is by far her worst ability, and some people don't even rank it up until level 4 or 5. And you don't even want to rank it up past level 1 because it goes up by 1%.

Tldr: Please look at sona. Think about what she's meant to be, and it's not really how she's portrayed in the game.

I really like Sona too but she is hard to balance (says riot). I would really settle for anything tbh, be it buffs or a complete rework where they give her a skillshot (so people stop bitching about it being no skill) and maybe buff the active effects of power chord besides the Q so that it would actually be meaningful to use the other actives. Also I think they should bring her base ms up and buff her E (as you mentioned).

I feel as if 9/10 for that rare exception you're chasing someone down or kiting you use Q power chord. If they just shifted some power from her Q into her other spells I feel like that'd be nice. I mean you can't max anything but your Q at this point. There's no reason to not max it.

Exactly. Also maybe increase her health a little so that she wouldn't be so much of a glass cannon. Heck, they can even nerf her power Q damage and lower the cd. Maybe make her Q hit more than 2 things if they decide to go that path. Might help her wave clear if she decides to mid.
