If trundle can't 1v1 Fiora, that's when you know there's a problem.

Honestly, trundle is the one of the best tanky melee duelist out there. I can go toe to toe agaisnt a sated Yi, Udyr and Shyvanna and you tell me that I can't 1v1 a fckin Fiora who's behind while i'm 2 kills ahead with more AD, sustain, attack speed and higher defenses!? What the actual fuck.

i dont get this, the person specifically made to win 1v1's beat trundle 1v1? i dont get how this confuses you.

As someone that plays Trundle a lot, I wouldn't have such a problem with this if Fiora also didn't have an AoE heal. I mean really, it just feels so tacked on and unnecessary as she already does a ton of damage and has decent mitigation through her parry.

Trundle is designed to be a tank-shredder and disrupter, but Fiora can bust tanks, squishies, AND heal her team (plus the heal scales with her damage build, so she sacrifices nothing for it). Her kit just seems really overloaded for a champion that's designed to be a duelist.

So a trundle can't 1v1 Fiora, the Grand Duelist, "GRAND DUELIST", IF THAT DOESNT SAY DONT TRY TO 1V1 ME, I DON'T KNOW WHAT DOES.

Clint Orris2 votes

I dont give a fuck what her title is lol. The grand duelist my ass. If you're Melee and AD, you're just not going to equally fight an even or fed trundle. Shit he'll still win even if he's behind lol.

So are we really going to single out 1 champion because their champ title isnt misleading? I give props to riot for nailing her theme perfectly, even if it was overpowered as f*ck. Anyway the nerf to her ult heal will certainly see her off as a competitive pick.

Haven't played Trundle for a long time. But I remember being able to outduel almost anyone (**** you Vayne ) But if Trundle can't outduel Fiora, yeah, we have a problem. Cause that's the point of him. He bashes their heads in. WTF RIOT?

Slamurai Jack2 votes

Did you let her proc all 4 parts of her ult on you for free or something? Just force out her ult and book it, this isn't rocket science.

You're building Trundle wrong if you lose to Fiora, grand duelist or not.

kJs1 votes

Fiora gets free damage for dancing around her opponent. The true damage scaling AD was a crap idea, should have simply been physical damage.

JhomasTefferson1 votes

I said this about diana. I was an akali. I was 4/0/0. She's 0/2/0. we both have about 75 cs. She 1v1's me, we both dump all our combo, and ignite. How? in what world is it fair that she out damages me when I'm that ahead.

And since trundle is supposed to counter ad, and be nearly unkillable if he's ulting and on his frozen domain, if she's killing him like that there is a problem. That's how he's supposed to work. If she were ap and blowing him up it'd be understandable, but because of the %health true damage (they didn't learn at vayne, did they) she's able to ignore one of the best counters to ad champs in the game, and 1v1 him when he's ahead, despite being "countered" by him. The fact that she can still outduel him when he's healing for all that he heals for in ult, gets all the extra stats, that she would lose her ad and he would gain some, that his healing is increased and he gets a lode of attack speed on his domain thing, and she can still kill him, is disgusting.

The Sword Saint1 votes

She's not countered by tanky champs because she has sustained true damage. Ta dah. Solved it for you.

MalzaharAnyLane1 votes

True damage is a noob trap.

For balancing, not players, mind you.

Lol she was 4-0 early game cause of my mistake and my team being dumb. And she still lost to me being 2-3 at 20 mins.

The fact you lost to her 1v1 is the problem.

Look at that cs different too, 4-0 vs 2-2 and still couldnt farm against me. She cant striaght up scrap with trundle, she has to poke with weak spots+Q to actually win 1v1, after trundle gets 1 or 2 items completed, its impossible for trundle to lose to her.

Plus trundle is a tank buster more than a duelist (which is why he loses to Jax late game).

JhomasTefferson1 votes

(which is why he loses to Jax late game).

Whut? Trundle is one of the best counters to jax

Rain NT1 votes

He is, but jax still wins after 3 to 4 items because Jax scales better and can avoid fighting trundle if he ults. In a 1v1 with ults Jax wins. And always wins late game if he plays it right because he can avoid most of trundles damage as well with E. I said late game jax.

JhomasTefferson1 votes

I disagree. Late-game it becomes a skill matchup. You know how you cc trynd to avoid him when he goes into ult? You need to put a pillar between you and max once he hits e. Then botrk onto him and ult. Thats how you outplay. It doesn't work if he walked to you to engage though. His q needs to be on cd. If it's not though, you can still pillar him away and 9/10 times if you time it right he won't get back over in time. They usually use all the time on their e unless they go for a quick stun, cuz they like to maximize damage reduction. So, you e them away during there e with so they can't q back. Then you wait until you see his ult. Then you ult. Then you q and domain and botrk and you win.

Rain NT1 votes

I play both, Late game Jax has a better attackspeed steroid and better ult if he doesnt cast it before Trundle ults. He has mix damage which Trundle doesnt have, his attackspeed scaling is infinite and doesnt really have a CD. He has a 3 hit burst plus W and E which will negate almost all of Trundles damage. Even if Trundle was manage to Ult after Jax Ult, Jax can simply jump to a ward, wait it out (counter Trundles botrk with his own botrk) and win 1v1 after. Its like saying Trundle counters Irelia, but a good irelia can still kill Trundle. Jax is the other hand SCALE way harder than both of them.

Jax doesnt need his Ult to be effective vs Trundle. Trundle NEEDS BOTH HIS W AND HIS R to beat Jax late game and even then Jax can still outplay. The problem is Trundle can zone jax easy early game cause jax won't have that crazy W+R burst with Q and E on relatively low CD.

trundle isnt made to fight fiora.

what resistances and health is he gonna steal from her? turning their own defensive stats against his opponent, is what makes trundle strong in a head on fight. hes not gonna get much from a champion who doesnt build health and resistances in the first place.

hes more like an anti bruiser bruiser who dismantles heavy fighters and tanks.

JhomasTefferson2 votes

He steals ad from a target. Sure he doesn't steal many resistances from her, but he still steals her stat for doing damage. He also should definitely be out sustaining damage from one champ if he's ulting that champ and in frozen domain. And the resistances stolen, while not a lot, are still present. Him having 27% of fioras armor, and her not having it, should definitely hurt her.

Ralanr1 votes

Does he steal attack speed?

JhomasTefferson1 votes

In this situation I'm not sure, but i know for a last item on trundle i usually go for randuins if I'm against a lot of ad, or even just want some more armor. That reduces attack speed. She'll still outduel me. I've died to her myself recently.

MalzaharAnyLane1 votes

I said it before and I'll say it again, that passive is way obnoxiously harder to balance than her old ult ever was.

The new kit is neither UP or OP it's just flat a broken pathetic joke. There's no in between, it's either too effective or useless.

TheI3igDaddy1 votes

His Q steals AD, and his ult steals armor, MR, and health as DOT's.

To add: Trundle is literally the best champion in the game. I am hoping someone whips him out during worlds with a sweet comp built around him.

Tryndamere would have done the same thing, and more easily.

You probably got outplayed.

Clint Orris1 votes

Thing is that I had BotRk and FH or Randuins. And she probably only had a tiamat and a pickaxe or longsword. I blocked her escape with Pillar and went in. Thrown my domain down, ult, Q and start whacking on this bitch. I'm winning of course and half way through the fight she ults and immediately takes down two sections and then takes down the other two. I'm trundle so I really don't have any mobility so there's no way I could've prevented her from proc'ing her ult. No outplay there, just a fact. Then she proceeds to start healing like crazy and I died. Yes I did fight on her ult. But the fact that her ult was outhealing my damage by FAR is a problem.

You're not gonna pick a fight against a Riven that's behind as a fed Garen and get outdamaged and outtanked correct?

The Sword Saint1 votes

How about you use your own movespeed from your domain and your botrk active to move around and make it harder on her? Or maybe save your pillar to block off on of your own vitals so she can't get the heal off when she ults? How about you take an ingnite and save it for her ult if you're gonna mindlessly let her get it off and fight her in it instead of playing around it in any way?

Clint Orris2 votes
  1. She has Q and has 30% - 40% movement speed from her ult. The placement of the vitals does not rotate with where the character is facing. So at that point I would've just given her free damage as I'm not able to stutter step due to fact that i'm not ranged.
  2. I used pillar to engage because she was not going to let me just walk up to her
  3. I'm not gonna put my team and myself at a disadvantage buy taking ignite over TP
  4. Yea it was my fault for fighting in her ult but I was not expecting those number on a champion who was numerically weaker than me in every way.

Then don't walk up to her. Accept that you're immobile and only have one disengage on her ult and don't play to her strengths. Better to not get a kill than to give her one.

TurtleStacks1 votes

Well you just aren't playing trundle right op. I haven't lost to fiora yet playing trundle. Whenever I play him top I hope I get fiora.

Matezoide1 votes

Tanky duelists such as Trundle are terrible choices to duel Fiora due to the way her Ultimate works. You need a legit damage dealer that will make sure she can not move around to hit her vitals without eating tons of damage.
