Am I the only one who feels as though delayed burst works a lot better on some assassins than others? Maybe it's just me, but it feels kinda bad to play LeBlanc nowadays. I just started to pick her up and try to play her more now, but the delay because of her passive makes me so mad sometimes. How come an assassin like Rengar or Zed is allowed to kill me in the blink of an eye and get out (I get zed can get out better than Rengar pls no witch hunt), but when I play LeBlanc if I try to go in on an ADC or an enemy assassin late game, they kill me waaaaay faster than I can kill them.

I noticed Riot has labeled LeBlanc as a "burst mage" not an assassin. I don't understand why. If someone could eli5, much appreciated. I was always under the assumption that burst mages, like Syndra, Zoe, Veigar, Annie, etc, were considered burst mages because they dealt high damage fast, but have no gap closers/mobility. On the client, LeBlanc is considered an assassin, but according to this, she's considered a burst mage. Also, why was her assassination power taken away, and put into a weakness (her wave clear)?

I understand her previous playstyle was immensely unfun to play against, basically instantaneously going from 100 to zero too quick felt bad and felt like you didn't have much to do against it. Late game though, I feel like I get bursted quicker than I can burst someone else. Not to mention with the newest addition of the Nullifying Orb keystone, if I go against an AD assassin and I don't get a kill before they can get a hexdrinker, I'm screwed.

TLDR: LeBlanc's burst feels horribly slow (mainly late game compared to other bursty people (mainly ADC's...)). It's really hard to burst down AD assassins/ADC's if they grab nullifying orb along with a hexdrinker. Is she an assassin or a burst mage? Why was her power shifted from assassination into wave clear?

champs like zed, kha, and kat aren't ranged with hard cc

but you have a point some assassins get screwed by delays while others are allowed to retain huge upfront damage or BPS

I don't like kat in that list (Though I am very biased as kat is my most played) She is an anchor late game. IF she goes in she generally either does well or gets bursted instantly. Unlike zed or khazix who have a bit more breathing room

kat is overpowered right now. her lane is too strong in matchups she should lose. she has a lot of aoe damage for an assassin and synergizes extremely well with electrocute and triumph. she's getting a well-deserved e nerf on the pbe that will hopefully tone her lane down.

Since when was kat ever an early game champion? Remember when they had to dumpster her base stats to be so garbage she had a non-existent laning phase

Pre rework she wasn't early game. Post rework her level 2-3 all in was so damn good they nerfed it but she still has good early game. You think she isn't currently early game ?? Have you played the champion? I can easily all in at level3 and guarantee a kill or blown summs

But she isn't an early game champion. She just has an actual laning phase now. All she had was her level 2-3 cheese and that was it. It still requires your laner to misplay heavily.

You forget how short games are this meta. 25 minutes is mid game at best, late game at worst. Katarina is a mid game champion, just like Ahri. She wants to roam and skirmish early game and get a lead for her strong mid game, unlike Pantheon who is an actual early game champion where he wants to shit on his laner.

Maybe they could lower her damage and make it scale, but that dumb since she wants to get fed early. I don't really have any idea, though for one, it'd be nice if mid and low elo players stopped wal on her daggers in Lane

Late game a zed can literally ult me, miss his Q, use his e, auto me, and go back on his ult and I'm dead. LeBlanc has to go and stay close ranged to you and wait for her passive to proc before she can back off.

Provided that you have 25 armor and no support in the team, yes he can do that, but in an actual game leblanc is much more useful lategame than zed. Regardless, that doesn't mean that zed has no delays in his kit, because he obviously has.

I agree that he has a delay, but I disagree that he's less useful than a LeBlanc. Judging by your name though, I'm guessing arguing about Zed would be like arguing with a brick wall (no shade, just seems biased).

in a teamfight a squishy target with 0 bonus armor (if they are bad enough to not have at least tabis /GA / Hourglass ) it is no secret that zed can easily one shot them in the blink of an eye with a basic combo, I am not denying that, but in actual games they always have something defensive and a support with cc / peeling or an exhaust to make him completely useless. On the other hand it is much easier to bait those with leblanc, since your w is on a much lower cooldown than zed ult to go back and re-engage

dude. Playing Zed now feels so unsatisfying. You get a free stopwatch that basically counters Zed then you complete it to Zhonyas because it costs less. Is it really that hard to build around champions? What about Xayah then she stays far away and then one shots you with her feathers stunning you in the process.

I believe** it was meddler that admitted leblancs identity is kinda fucked up rn and they will be reverting some of her kit so old lb fans can actually play her.

They stated it would be in march I believe id have to look at the post but you can go to the meddler "patch discussion" Its in the same forum as runeterra religion and reasoning behind cass and no boots

In my opinion delayed burst doesnt work on any assassin. It justs feels like shit to play them. Its why I dont like half of the reworks for the assassins I dont even play Leblanc anymore unless Im trying to get a chest or my friends whos fairly new to the game asks me too. Only reason I didnt drop Kat after the rework is cause that was my main and I spent too much money on her. Imo conditional burst is alright but delayed needs to go this rework was too make kat less feast or famine but all it did was make her worse since now if shes behind shes still going to have to wait 2 seconds for the opponent thats already ahead to take damage. And during teamfights shes more of a just jump in and press r because again the delays make flanking and deleting an adc thats out of position without wasting r useless.

Abusing her E is about the only use I can find for her now. Used to be able to carry the occasional game, but now I'm basically just an empty slot watching my team fight a 4v5.

Well, she's been scheduled for a mini rework for about half a year, but it was just canceled recently due to taking up too much time that would be better spent on pre season balancing. She's set to get some smaller number shifts to push her back closer to old LB until they have time to rework her.

I played 232 ranked leblanc games in season 7, over 320k leblanc mastery, is that enough to give me some credibility?

No, because 232 games is barely even a percentage of the sample size of leblanc games played at any given time.

There were 66 THOUSAND leblanc matches played in plat+ elo just within the last patch cycle. Why would your anecdotes mean anything in regards to her overall state of a champion.

To be frank, I've tested various build paths, and I believe that Gunblade is just a mediocre rush on her and is part of the reason so many Leblanc players are struggling.

Trust me, I KNOW what everybody else does on her, and I've tried that, time and time again, and this way works way better for me.

Le blanc doesnt burst? Tell that to my last 2000 games since season 1 Le blanc isnt an assassin? Yes Riot indentified her as a burst mage. Might aswell identify her as a male at this point

Stop building her incorrectly Stop using combos inefficiently Start using abilities faster

Her reccomended item set should be updated to help noobs though

It is funny watching a lb trying to all in a carry late game and end up getting out bursted by 3 autos.

One thing i would disagree with you on is sydra isnt a typical birst mage, unless she already has her orbs out on the field it takes a wee bit more time to get her combo going than say an annie viegar or even an ori
