Friendly Reminder Sona's Winrate Plummeted After Patch 7.23 and Has Remained There Since

According to the trendlines on op.gg, Sona was at a winrate of about 52% at patch 7.23

After that patch, it plummeted by about 5% down to 47%, where it now sits at exactly 46.99%.

She went from having the 8th highest winrate out of all supports, to the 25th, and she has been like that for about 3 patches. Nothing has been done to help, she's utter garbage now. Maybe with the new AP item changes she'll be a bit better, but I'm not hopeful after the changes they made to her.

She went from being decent/good, to being utter trash.

Everyone else seems to be sitting at a healthy winrate of 50%, except for Morgana who I now see going mid more often, and Karma who I don't even know what she's supposed to be. Mid? Support? Who knows.

But poor Sona has been in the dumpster for 3 patches after being pretty decent, and I'd like to see some change to that to at least bring her up to 49-50% like everyone else. Same with Morgana, who could also use a boost from her current winrate of 46%.

Sona is like my most played champ

  1. She's not weak.
  2. She doesn't need buffs, and much as I'd enjoy that.
  3. Her WR isn't actually 46% op.gg just sucks at analytics, use a different site.

What I will give you is that her play style has shifted from being an early game poke lane bully to being a champ with a kinda bad early game and much much better scaling. If you try to play her the same way you won't do every good.

Well, let's be real here for a second. The extent of skill expression in Sona's kits revolves around landing her fairly large ult and utilizing her passive. If Riot is going to touch Sona, they should really change her passive to actually matter (and be an important part of her kit). I can assure you that most people don't know that her passive has a damage reduction and slow built in, and simply think it's just 'more damage.'

If Sona is truly at a 47% winrate, sure, buff her. However, don't put her right back into the low-interactivity Q W spam role that she lies in, or she'll just become as problematic as she was before.

She's sitting on a 50% win rate at Plat+ according to lolalytics and leagueofgraphs.

It's how Riot balance team works Nerf Sona -> nerf all the runes Sona is using (and that initially made her stronger) -> leave Sona in the trash can without actual compensation buffs

Sona is the NyQuil of support champions with how boring and uninteractive her kit is. Rework her before you allow her to be strong.

Friendly remind she is toxic in bronze and should stay trash.

If you don`t wear a push up bra as Sona then its your fault for falling dowm.

No one cares about Sona anymore, if any of Sona player including me bring up the post about buffing Sona, it will be downvoted into oblivious.

Sona has the** weakest early game**, and the strongest late game as support. Weakness is that because she can hardly poke anyone now because of how high burst damage from other support. If I try to poke Alistar level2 above, I will be dead very quickly. If I try to poke Lulu , she could use E + Q combo with aery on me and lost half of my HP as trade (not even count enemy's ADC skills/AA damage) If enemy support is a Janna or Nami, I probably won't be able to get my spellthief 500g quest before them because they can either outpoke me, out-healing me and have better utility provided.

If I decide to take Ancient Coin as Sona's beginning item, I will lose APs. Indeed it is a safer way to get golds. But without AP, Sona is nothing but an advanced Ranged minion in lane.

What can Sona do in early game? Heal? Shield? or movespeed boost? Non of those were effective in early game. She is in awkward situation similar to Mordekaiser. If Sona go for support, what should Sona do? poke? if Sona go to mid, viable? not really. However, if she manage to get in her late game, she is way too strong, I have to say it because it is unhealthy. 3 seconds AOE shield + movespeed buff + Q bonus auto attack nearly unstoppable.

She needs some balance for early game and late game.

I want her to be viable in other lane, giving her treatment like Leblanc for Sona. But that will be impossible since Sona has a lot of skins if they going to do it, it will be waste of time.

Just rework her.Her issue is more complex than "buff her"

Friendly reminder: nobody cares until her kit is reworked into something more interactive or more skill expression is added. God forbid a bot lane champion's winrate drops to 47%, oh the horror.

It's not so much that Sona is bad, it's just that the meta currently doesn't favor her.

Literally, AS A SONA MAIN, when I go to play support right now, I ask myself, "Why play Sona into this bursty ADC/ tanky CC meta, when I can play any other enchanter to do the exact same job, except safer?" Therefore, I've been playing more Soraka and Janna since preseason than Sona, and I really do miss her. I'm SO EXCITED for these item changes, specifically for what they can do for Sona in bot and mid.

I've been preaching on my soap box around here for too long for you guys to not get it. When I say "you guys", I mean the Sona mains.

Her problems as a champion are too complex to be solved with a simple "buff". You guys are stuck in a freaking loop. I can't repeatedly post the same things over and over again for no one to get it. Sona isn't going to be fixed by buffs. She needs a major overhaul.

I mean, regardless, Riot shows 0 interest in Sona on that scale, anyway, so even if you DID get it, nothing would change. Sona's a stat stick champion. You want to know how Riot treats stat stick champs? Look at Yi and Nunu. Months and months of neglect are in store while they work on the real champions in the game.

are you sure about that?

good, just rework her, her abilities can't be outplayed so she is either incredibly strong or incredibly shit

I'm waitin for some Karma changes over here. She's been bad in support for waaaaay longer.
