You literally can't do anything against him as a melee champion. His tradeoff for having some of the best in game sustain is hardly anything. He really needs nerfs and it needs to happen NOW. I don't want to wait until patch 6.13 for him to be "addressed"
royal Joker 14 votesa champion who relies on healing, meaning he can be countered by grievous wound aka ignite, with no escape mechanism nor a reliable cc, has zero kill potential, and is forced to push lane when farming. Also, his harass was just nerfed.
Let me guess, you try to trade early and get wrecked by his ravens, you die, or call for a gank but you are at 200hp and you die with him. Too bad you picked up that teleport instead of ignite.

BloodyTompon1 votesNo, I'm saying I actually think that it's a useful item (although I do think it's difficult to make a convincing argument without data). I'd agree it certainly is not needed to shut him down.
Consider if Swain is to heal 100 damage, the executioners reduces that to 75. It has 'dealt' 35 damage in a sense. The value only goes up the more he regains so I consider it a very cost effective item against Swain.

Swain is, Vlad is still derp til they make his E not kill him more than his enemies. As it is right now, no matter how much it hurts, it hurts him more far more than his Q can ever heal him. His E is basically an ability you do once or twice and stop since you took like 30% max hp from it just to hurt them for maybe 20%.

Aurelionsol has the same problem; fizz, zed, ekko, & yasou all beat him down without trouble. You're also not considering the fact that several melee champions have a hard time against ranged enemies. Ever play darius against lissandra? How about illaoi against quin? Or chogath vs vayne?

In fact it was worse, due to the Q being P&C.
Also, mind you, Swain is 100% a counterpick. He doesnt deal well with anything but with bruisers, and even then they can buy a 
+ 3-5hp potions and ignore him until late. I am completly sure that if I mathed some things, the times Swain is picked and wins is because he was counterpicking.

, he wont be able to kill you at all unless you go afk in the middle of the lane. However a lot of people do NOT buy any MR at all, instead going for their core item with 0 mr right away and feeding in lane.

they buffed his base health and armor. so hes really tanky naturally. its stupid. I mean his Q and E hurt so fucking much and the cd is too damn low. his stun idc about but his harass is too much and you can't stop him from scaling. sorta like ryze.

, it almost terminates his mana gating on his ult, and when he spends mana for crows, HE HEALS OFF OF THEM, and that is ONLY ROA, not his ult factored.
Meaning he has healing off of RoA, and his ult, with he can't die. and for some stupid reason 
still allows him to heal... almost every other champ loses any ability they had in play when they use it, except swain (and i believe 
e can still do damage on the smash)
Nefas1 votesThat bit about Zhonyas is just not true...they just changed Anivia ult to function the same way as Swain ult and it was considered a bug fix. All toggles continue to work and all active spells like Fiddle ult and Kennen ult continue to work when Zhonyas is activated. That's how things how always worked.

The same thing happened when new Malzahar was released, his skills get damage buffs, but some of the old mechanics that compensated mana sustain for lesser damage remain as part of their kits, and once their numbers get buffed, the compensation doesn't go away, making them ridiculously strong in lane due to having practically infinite mana. I don't think Malzahar and Swain have overpowered kits or damages, I just think that in lane, they can literally spam their spells and get all that mana back by the next wave.
