A gank does not always have to end in a kill

Even just showing your face is sometimes enough to give us an advantage. Sure we might be pushed out from being directly under our tower, you can still gank. Every lane has many ways from where to enter it. Get creative, maybe gank from behind their own tower and knock them forward or something. But don't just afk farm the entire match because it is a better use of your time according to you. Even Yi, a champion famous for the "AFK farm till 6" routine, has pressure if he shows in a lane before hand. if suddenly the bot lane has 3 champions on a team, usually the other side backs off or changes their play style. Sometimes just making them miss a few CS is enough to take a solid lead. Just because you may not get a kill, does not mean it is not worth ganking the lane.

In yi's case, it's sometimes just a waste of time to even bother popping in the lane, unless they do something really, really out of line

then you get the junglers who don't ping or say anything and just appear in your lane

Watch the map? If u don't see ur own jungler appear in ur lane what's to stop enemy from getting easy kills? Enemies don't ping either they just show up

Map awareness don't always help. I've frequently seen my jungler enter river, started setting up for a gank, then watched him just kill Scuttler and head elsewhere. Later, that same jungler arrives in river, I ignore it assuming he's farming, and suddenly he's running right past Scuttler into my lane screaming.

ya I tend to do that lol, sometimes I don't ping tho because I don't want my top to engage I just am going for a flash burn. and 80% of the time im tunnel visioned as jungle lol olaf R run in penta run out type

I have had a few Junglers before just walk up through my lane (from my own side and down the center, not even hiding in the brush or anything), start taking all the CS, and complain that we are not pushing good enough even though we are the ones behind, and calls that a gank which they never even pinged for or did anything to alert us that they were "ganking".

Seriously, this kind of shit is NOT what I am talking about. This is just obvious signs that they are not meant to be a Jungler, or that they have a shit ton to learn still.

and likewise you have the laners that don't go agro in your gank when you ping on my way twice.

Totes. Showing up can force them to burn a summoner. It can make them back off, giving your laner a chance to breath and get some cs. It can reveal where they do (or do not) have vision. It can reveal where the enemy jungler is (or isn't), opening up a chance to take an objective. I absolutely agree that a gank does not have to end in a kill to be valuable.

Omg ikr like I'll gank they will burn a flash and then my laner will rage that I left teemo alive -.- I mean come one ur 100 hp and basing I stopped him from killing you and ur unhappy lol

I agree, i often show up to lane and when i fail a gank but i make them waste mana, i then collect my reward of 2 caster minions or one cannon followed by scuttle.

unless i notice they miss a lot of cs then i tax most of the wave.

You need to understand that a jungler gank always costs a lot to pull off.

First of its costs, the junglers farming time, when they get a kill or assist its all good, but if they pull off 1 or 2 ganks without that then they end up monstrously behind lest the enemy is also failing that many times.

Second cost, passive pressure, just by having a jungler means that your enemies play a little wary, and once the jungler appears on any part of the map that is not the same as were they are they are essentially free to go agro without any need to worry about the jungler.

Third cost, it tells the enemy jungler where you are, so it opens up incredibly safe ganks, counterjungling opportunities, and counterganking opportunities, and all of these things can be incredibly harmful.

So don't treat it like its free pressure, it isn't, and if your jungler does not want to show presence anywhere on the map at any given moment, you should not be mad at them for it.

Well,

  1. Many, if not most Junglers tax lane a few creeps per gank
  2. Not having any presence at all can have the inverse effect too
  3. It is also forcing the enemy Jungler to play reactivity, there is no guarantee that they will act upon it (though likely they will), and it gives a lot of power to the lane you ganked

Even if it is not 100% free, it still can be, and usually is, beneficial.

and if your Jungler does not want to show presence anywhere on the map, you should not be mad at them for it.

Don't even go there. That basically is saying you should not be mad at AFK/rage quitting players, except in this case their teammates doesn't even get the increased exp bonus and jungle camps.

  1. Many, if not most Junglers tax lane a few creeps per gank

This usually doesn't entirely offset the loss of farm individually, but it helps.

  1. Not having any presence at all can have the inverse effect too

This is why its important to strike a balance, and sometimes a proper balance includes essentially dropping a lane.

  1. It is also forcing the enemy Jungler to play reactivity, there is no guarantee that they will act upon it (though likely they will), and it gives a lot of power to the lane you ganked

that power is the plus side of ganking yes, but it comes at a cost of nearly the same magnitude.

Don't even go there. That basically is saying you should not be mad at AFK/rage quitting players, except in this case their teammates doesn't even get the increased exp bonus and jungle camps.

I should have added the phrase "at any given moment" into that previous statement, as that was the intended meaning.

I have fixed it.

gank pressure honestly made me swap up my jungle picks, went from a shyv main almost swapping to aatrox surprisingly enough

I feel like this post only applies if your jungler is playing Lee.
