Talisman of Ascension is 53% gold efficient
Gold Value 100% health regeneration = 360 Gold 100% mana regeneration = 500 Gold 10% cooldown reduction = 317 Gold Total: 1177
1177 / 2200 = .535 = 53.5% gold efficient (not counting passive)
That's in contrast to Frost Queen's Claim's 85% gold efficiency (1875 / 2200 = .85) and Face of the Mountain's 91% gold efficiency (2010 / 2200 = .91)
If you consider all of the passives equal, there's almost no reason to build Talisman, because you'd have to make up a difference of either ~800 gold for FQC and ~900 gold for FoTM.
(Don't believe the ones on Wiki, they're wrong. Do the calculations manually and you'll end up with the same results as me).
But the passives aren't equal. Frost Queen's Claim is the clear winner here, the spooky ghosts, while nerfed, are still the best active, while the passive portion can easily generate the most gold (but does require more interaction than Talisman), while the damage you gain somewhat levels off with damage healed from Talisman. I'd put the actives of Talisman and FoTM as a tie, simply because the shield adds so much health on tanky supports (while the slow is also useful), though talisman might edge out FoTM slightly. As far as passives go, FoTM is clearly better than talisman; you heal the ADC and yourself as well as gain comprable gold.
Honestly, I have no idea why they removed the movespeed from Talisman (as well as reduced the gold gain). You literally get the same health regen on FoTM and the same mana regen on FQC, while those two have the added bonus of either 50 AP or 450 HP, as well as having CDR. Talisman just feels really, really weak atm.
So... could we possibly make Talisman a little less sucky in the gold efficiency department?
