Riot is it possible to "normalize" tick rates to tick faster for some spells?

Perhaps Wukong ult can tick more rapidly.

Malzahar ult ticks faster while suppressed or walking in the pool.

Sunfire rapidly ticking per second.

Maybe even changing ignite to tick more.

Now the damage or duration of the spell should not change, just increasing how much it ticks. Say sunfire ticks 4 times over 4 seconds it would instead tick 16 times over 4 seconds.

hmm do i get 20% shred with 4 ticks or do i get to 30% shred with 6 ticks and deal much more damage with the other 10 item 3071 problems

then there are other things to consider item 1054 passive, if ever there would be an item or champion ability or change to have a similar passive this would be stronger vs a faster tickrate as it would block 8 damage on every damage dealth say you have 16 ticks instead of 4 and you deal 160 damage with 16 ticks 80% of that damage would be blocked with 4 ticks only 20% would be blocked

so there is more to this kind of thing then first appears

The only problem I can come up with is Black Cleaver. If Wukong's ult ticked faster, he'd shred armor at an incredible rate.

At the same time, Wukong seems most in need of this little change. There's enough time between ticks that it sometimes allows enemies to flash out of it just before being knocked into the air.

They can use 2 different ticks, one for the cc and one for the damage

It's not a deal-breaking issue, that's for sure. Should be relatively easy to code it so that only every other tick applies Black Cleaver.

Could cause serious balance issues on physical DoT's, so it's not as simple as changing few lines of the code and calling it a day, but overall it would be a good change.

I don't see it happening with the Adobe Air Engine.

Really though, sometimes technical limitations does exist and limits what Riot can do.

Ahem find a new platform already Riot Ahem

Wow. Ok.

Adobe Air is not a game engine. It's the structure for the game client, IT DOES NOT EFFECT US IN GAME IN ANY WAY.

Well yeah, it's possible to be done but the question is whether or not it _should _ be done.

And because such changes have questionable benefit or none at all and can cause problems or huge balance issues, it should not be done. e.g. A champion getting hit with Sunfire for 4 secs. takes the exact same amount of damage regardless of the number of ticks but makes it more likely that you deny yourself CS.

Do you really want the **massive **nerfs that Darius and MonkeyKing would have to take to get this through just so Malzahar can get a change that doesn't really benefit him at all?
