Its not instant. He screams and warns you when he presses his R and you are also able to see 2 glowing eyes on top of your head so you have plenty of time to hugg your Leona, Braum or whoever as Rengar has ZERO chances to kill you if CCed after his jump unless he bursts empowered W which will cost him tons of damage. If you got cought alone sonewhere, that's whar Rengar is supposed to do.
