Sometimes if you have high MMR they bump you right to promos I was at around 60 lp before then got promos instantly. Its nice.

If you're eligible for skipping you can see on your League page on the right. Where it normally says "Get to 100 LP and win best of 3/5 to advance" it'll say something else if your MMR is high enough.

Ah, so that's what happened to me. Sadly I lost a game (Queued in ranked with bronze friends) and now I am ineligible for skipping... Missing my 50LP/win.
