This is Redmercy. I'm sure there are plenty of people out there that have heard of him, and have watched his videos, but if you don't know of him, he could quite possibly be the best Zed player in North America right now (and I'm being serious). This particular video is his most recent, of which he gives his own opinions on the recent changes to the assassins.

Now, people out there looked at Zed's changes for 5.2 and said "What the hell Rito?!?!? This is nothing! Especially compared to the Fizz changes!" Well, how about you look at those changes through the eyes of a very well versed Zed main before you complain any further? The Zed portion of the video starts at 6 minutes in.

After you watch this, you may want to reconsider attacking Riot for making a change to a champion.

I think what a lot of people don't realize is that toning the base attack speed down in virtually any way is a huge kick in the pants in regards to scaling. At first, you probably won't notice the fraction of a second difference, but as you buy any Attack Speed items or are in any situation that relies on auto attacking, maybe a lot, having a lower base attack speed weighs down very quickly.

I think people realize it, I just think that most people were expecting something more direct.

Let's be honest, this doesn't seem big. People wanted something that prevented him from farming and wave clearing super duper well, super duper effectively, at a decent range, and without end in sight. This change to me, and from what it sounded like from the OP's vid, is just making Zed slightly clunkier, and less reliant on fast AAs and instead opting for stronger individual AAs, meaning he can't push towers as fast maybe.

This is what happens to Zed, the forums current most hated (equalish to Lee), after the mana regen nerfs, DFG removal, and (my personal gripe that I'm dealing with because I love her) the Sona changes.

You can agree or disagree with changes, saying they were needed or whatever, but it just seems odd. To me, Riot seems to have CAREFULLY approached Zed, carefully picking him apart to see what they could hit that wouldn't alter either his LCSBIGPLAYS or just his general effectiveness, while almost every other champion recently has been hit with a backhand of hate, then some of them kicked as they tried to stand again.

I think that is what annoys me right now, Riots approach feels different, and it's seems really unfair.
