At this point either a hotfix would have already happened (like singed, and his pickrate was 8% only), or we'd see some significant nerfs on pbe atleast, nether has happened, not even a rioter to say "we know hes broken right now, looking for ways to nerf him".

Ive experienced it myself, ive played this patch already a gnar vs sion lane where i counter picked him as the second pick (he picked first).
I get a kill off a gank, then he hits lvl 6 and kills me in the all in while im up 500 gold as a counter, normally by this point i should be crushing him like before, not losing.
His E is too easy to hit while doing too much damage for how spammable it is, and since hes overtuned he doesnt even need to fully charge the Q, just spam e, W your harass and double tap Q to win every lane.
And hes not just strong because i said so, ive literally linked the data that PROVES that hes completely broken atm.

his hardest counters have 49% win rate against him he just spams E over and over and it deals a ton of damage for little mana
you lost MR runes, he gained comet scorch mana flow band the only reason it was balanced until now is that half of the fucking time it didn't work due to the bug that got fixed

BeatzBoyFTW1 votesBecause like I said in my other comment, a bunch of people constantly claimed Sion being an okay champion for having a bunch of delayed abilities. So I would assume they would have plenty of time dodging/interrupting him, hence why Sion wasn't used to be such a popular champion in the past.
Seeing as how people jumped the gun & exclaiming Sion being OP is just out of the blue.

in the past, i was almost never ok with people claiming that some champions are op because most of the time they're op in low elo without being op in high elo (ie: twitch kata riven)
and often, a champ in high elo would be disgusting while no one gives a fuck on the boards (ie: tahm kench braum camille)
but sion, when dude became pick/ban in lcs this should tell you that even high elo has a problem with him he just can't lose lane like i said
and the boards would not jump in the sion op bandwagon but rather in the "sion is a healthy design therefore he can never be op and i enjoy playing against him" bandwagon

That isn't the issue.
At lvl 2 a Sion Q and E combo can chunk you for 30% at least.
With resolve tree and W he gets very tanky early. Far quicker than anyone else bar chogath.
He can harass with E.
His W shield mitigates damage allowing him time to CC you and disengage without taking permanent health loss.
His Q alone is arranged minion wave clearer.
He can push the wave under your tower and use W to take tower aggro while he Qs and Es you.
All that said I don't think Sion is broken overall. He's just so strong because of the rune system and damage creep. Even as Garen he destroys me. My E is useless early. What can I do? To get to him as a melee I need move around minions and even Q is telegraphed and useless. He just Es me and Qs me from safety behind minions, has insane damage early and is unkillable late.
You don't really beat Sion you just hope your jungler has the brains to try and help you survive the early.
