Shen is an example of a champion that has to suffer because of pro play
Any plans to make him more viable for regular people?
To be honest, I'm hoping people will tell me I'm wrong.

It turns out that huge-ranged helpful ultimates present balance problems.

I just play him on-hit and dunk things. Him not being viable just lets me play him in peace.
Shen is plenty viable right now. He's just not S tier.
He's very useful with his ultimate and his zones. I'm not sure why you're having issues with him. He's not going to stomp lane and he requires more map awareness than what most of 'regular' (regular being bronze/silver as that's where the majority of league resides) are used to giving. So make sure your teammates know that if they're going to do some ballsy play, that they need to ping you, so you can get in a good spot to Ulti in.
I just want him to get reworked again, I find new shen so incredibly dull, all you do is AA, AA untill you die, previously you had Q + W since W also had a low cooldown, you could also build him ap, tanky AP, tanky AD hybrid, now it's just bruiser build and that's it for the most part, bruiser build and right click like a ADC till you win or lose the game
AP Shen wasn't viable. Basically, it was as viable as it is now.

it was, assuming you play for fun and don't try to reach challenger with it, previous shen Q, W, E and R scaled with AP, now only a pathetic scaling on Q and AP scaling on R.
So it was viable only if you play for fun, so it wasn't. Right now, if Shen goes full AP, his Q will chunk you for 75% HP.

it was, reached gold with it, it was gold viable enough, plenty of champions and builds are only viable up to a certain skill level.
yeah and it's also melee range and leaves him with 0 defense as opposed to old shen
If it's only good up until gold, then it's not good. How can you even deny this? It's like saying I stomped bronze with AP Trist. Just because it worked there doesn't mean it's good.

how can you deny it? I reached gold with old AP shen, after a while I stopped playing so who knows how high it could be, FACT is AP shen was viable in bronze, silver and gold, hence me reaching all the way up to gold with AP shen, simple as that, this shows old AP shen was viable in bronze, silver and gold, was it viable beyond gold? no idea as I never got beyond gold.
define ''good'' if AP trist can reliably win you games in bronze then AP trist is good in bronze, just like how old AP shen is good in bronze, silver and gold
Ok, but when you call something to be good, you are supposed to take into account his overall performance, not just certain situations. That's why you base most things on how it's applied to masters / challengers.

majority of players are in gold or lower thus to me it makes more sense whether or not something is good or bad on that statictic, after all if 80% of the players play in bronze/silver/gold then to them it is more important what champions are good/strong/viable in their elo then what the top 1% find viable, in fact what the top 1% find viable is completely irrelevant to them.
And the rest of his kit bar his ult is wasted. He only has scaling on his Q and R. AP Shen isn't a viable option.
That's what I'm saying. It's only as viable now as it was years ago.
AZIR
He was quite strong after the runes reforged update. He has very strong dueling power early. The thing is that his R is such a huge power source, that you need to gut a lot of his other kit for it. It's a global teleport with a big shield. One good early game R can probably win the game by itself.
And how

Not to say he isn't balanced around pro play, but I think he is far less affected now than he was before. He is still a decent pick if you get just a little bit of experience with him.
hes pretty op if you ask me, a tank that easily solos 5 opponents and actually causes massive damage
