Is there any reason Omen is losing it's crit damage reduction?
Who's gonna buy this item now?
Who's gonna buy this item now?
Whoever Randuin is
nobody
People who wan't the armor and AOE slow?
It's only ten armor over a Sunfire or DMP. Pretty sure I'll pick either of those over a Randuin's with the crit dmg reduction gone.
dead mans gives the same stats
So you have different options. Want more wave-clear, buy Sunfire. Want single target stickiness, buy Deadmans. Want an AOE slow, buy Randuins.
they nerfed the aoe slow too though
2 second 55% doesn't even compare in value to 4 second 35%
It essentially halves the enemies MS for two seconds. That's pretty effective. You could get it on Maokai, twisted advance to the frontline, pop Randuins, then go for the backline, since the frontline would be too slow to stop you. Or you could use it to catch out an enemy. Two seconds of 55% is better than 4s of 35%, if you're just going to CC them when you catch them.
slow items have huge diminishing returns fyi since there's MS caps
a 60% slow does not slow half the amount that a 30% slow does
MS caps for slows apply at 220 MS.
Because AA crit champs are supposed to beat tanks late game.
Because randuins is a boring stat check item, they are trying to make it cheaper and giving the active more immediate power (55% slow).
I agree AA champs are supposed to beat tanks late game
But Omen shouldn't even be in the game, right now most people go dead man's/sunfire
It's been a trap item for awhile, the only purpose it had was against yasuo/tryndamere
Randuin's is possibly too weak in this version, though it still is the strongest of the HP/Armor items defensively, and has the lowest price point. As mentioned very briefly, there are some possible change to penetration coming that perhaps will help with this concern.
One thing I didn't get into in the main post (but am happy to here) is that the removal of Crit Damage Reduction from Randuin's is intended to head off and/or defuse some power creep in the shop, especially since crit users are generally supposed to be successful at dealing damage to tanks. Some of these changes may result in outlier champions that have special crit interactions, and in that case, we'll need to address those case by case.
