Enough is Enough RIOT

Stop with the cringe worthy unbalanced matchmaking in normals. Unranked isn't a balancer for excessively above the elo grade since it has a decent chance of being a smurf account. But I constantly see this where a team has loaded 4 members of above elo tier with one unranked and calls that balanced. I should never see a platinum or diamond ranked player if I am silver, unless there is an equivalent rank on my team. Now if this was just a fluke and is unlikely to ever happen again, that would be ok. But that is not the case here. This is a very common occurrence.

If you are still working on fixing matchmaking balance, then this should be first on the list IMO. Normals is not as strict as ranked, I get it. But come on, this is still unacceptable. A team who has not only higher ranked players but a premade as well? That should never happen unless the other team is just as stacked too.

This has been addressed in the past and I'll just highlight a few things -

1.) Ranked MMR and Unranked MMR are treated completely separately. You could easily have someone with a ranked MMR of Diamond and an unranked one of bronze. This is in part because a lot of players enjoy trying out new champions in unranked to get to practice them before taking them to ranked games.

2.) Being able to play with your friends in unranked regardless of their level is a core part of League of Legends. Ranked does not let you do that but you should be able to enjoy the game in some way with your friend even if they're a completely different level than you.

I get that, but what I don't like is how often this unbalance occurs in normals. It is far to frequent in my opinion.

If your teammates were placed in plat last year and are unranked this year, they still have ~plat MMR. So you might just see people who either A: Lose a lot in normals, but not in ranked. B: Who have really weak teammates or C: You have really strong teammates who were never placed this season. And Unranked MMR is 1200, which is like silver 3-4.

Funnily enough. The only games you won recently are ones where you had a star player (highest rank on your team) severly outdamaging you as an ADc (we call that carrying) and in the games you lost, the highest rank on the enemy team never once did the most damage.

Huh.

Yep, and I dont like that it is that way. But also I like to play Jinx who sucks early game compared to others, but that is not the issue. However, I have been in games with my team having an MMRA of around 1250 and the enemy at around 1400 MMRA quite frequently.

I'm a Jinx main actually! http://na.op.gg/summoner/userName=GodCorvus Tadaa. 1400 MMR is like Silver 1-2. Not really much better than 1250 jsyk. 1500 is Gold 5.

yes but you need to also remember that unranked players can skew that number to be disproportionate for the actual skill level. Especially when they are bringing up a smurf account who is not 30 yet (27 at the time in one of my recent games but duo queued with a plat).
