Ranked rewards require Honor level 2

League of Legends 2018 Season Rewards Update

Imagine punishing people because they dropped to Honor 0 last season, haven't been punished in 10+ months, but still don't get rewards because it takes forever to climb back up in honor.

Remind that it's still stupid that being chat restricted while at level 3 or high drops you down instantly to level 1 or 0. This only makes it worse. Made, even more, worse, Honor doesn't reset for people at level 1 or 0 at the start of the season.

It doesn't take that long to really go up. I've raised a level before within 2-3 months alone before. As for chat restrictions, just don't talk shit in the way that gets you in trouble and thus you won't be chat restricted in the first place. Is playing nice really so hard for people?

It does take a long time to go up.

Also, overly punishing people doesn't make or encourage them to be better people. That's why the re-incarceration rate in the US is so high, while Sweden has one of the lowest despite having much shorter sentences?

Sweden probably does a better job of convincing people crime is not worth it and shorter sentences aren't the main thing. Point is it's not really Riot's job to change player behavior. Their task is to make money and make sure that that antics of some does not mess with the play time of others within the bounds of what they can feasibly do. Riot has in a way layed things out pretty plainly. Behave and be nice with others and you have a chance for variable rewards, or break rules and get punished for it. And again, it doesn't take a long time, it just feels that way for some people. I want you to recall that when Riot started this Honor system part of the plan was for it to be something you built up all season. Thus no one is going to be shooting up a rank within a month. They wanted to span the growth over an entire year, so it's natural for your level to go up only 1 every few months.

It doesnt really take forever, I got chat restricted less than two months ago for saying some stupid non sense. I got dropped and locked at lvl 1, now I am back at lvl 2. It depends on how many honors you give/receive. If you will invest some time into the game, it will go up.
