Rework Nocturne?

Saw a post basically saying, what's up with Noc, is he a tank or an assassin, cos he's kind of neither. My thought as follows: rework him to be an AD-mid assassin to join the likes of Zed and Talon (and Yasuo I guess). To be honest, the living nightmare that turns the enemy's screens dark while eerily echoing "All alone...." seems too perfect to not be an assassin.

The only flaw I see with this is changing him from his AA based nature, because what do you remove? The ultimate is too iconic, a fear makes too much sense not to remain in some way, and his Q is also rather iconic.

Maybe the fear could be moved to the ultimate? Wherein it activates when used on a target that is isolated (Kha'Zix style)? Would leave room to bring in a new E, could change what blocking a spell does on W or change the ability completely, and could change the passive to make his spells deal bonus damage to paranoid targets?

I dunno, kind of just throwing the idea out there

As long as he has that ult he's always going to FEEL like a jungler, you know? The monster lurking in the dark, dark jungle is coming out to get you. His kit is actually really cool and, I think, viable. I think Riot should start considering him more of a bruiser though instead of an assassin, and give him some compensation stats to push him into more standard play

It just feels like a waste to me, everything about him screams assassin, but in the end it's easier to just make him a walking stat-stick. I don't doubt people don't find his ult creepy and unnerving, but does anyone actually fear it? If he stays as a stat-stick do you think anyone ever will?

The thing is that the reason no one is scared of Nocturne's ult is because he's either easy enough to kill once he gets there or he just won't deal enough damage once he's there. He's a pretty bad assassin in that he doesn't do very much burst damage. Its all sustained damage that just gets a few steroids

Hence the reason to rework him..... I feel like you've missed the whole reasoning behind the suggestion

All he´d need would either be some defensive stats on his ult, so he can build offensive enough to matter later on without getting oneshot - or some arp-steroids so he can build defensive later on without being ignorable. Either way he´s a fine champ that just falls off a little too much right now if he doesn´t snowball...
