Honest question. I've seen it asked before, but it never gets a real answer, it's always just 'learn to dodge' 'lol kid can't even play vs skillshot mage' etc. I'd like a real answer for why a 3340 range, 500-808 base with 75-115% ap scaling aoe ult has a cooldown of fifty seconds at 0% cdr.

The Whamboozler4 votesUm... because it's the primary reason to pick Lux? You pick Lux to Shoop Da Whoop, and without her ult you're unlikely to be able to kill anyone. Even if you do have it, it's easily dodged unless you land your snare first and ideally you need to land your full combo and an auto attack to get the most out of her burst. Her ult is also her primary way to waveclear and help in teamfights, and it's too narrow to blow up a whole team unless they position VERY oddly... so she needs to have it available for pretty much every engage.
There are plenty of ults with equally low cooldowns, hers isn't that unreasonable. Especially since Lux's cooldowns aside from her ult are a little on the long side.

I think maybe if her ult didn't proc her passive it would be far less oppressive and more fit its role as kind of a pick off tool on low health people, just comparability similar passive all lose damage for each target they pass through as well, like Daven, or Ez and those are the ults people compare hers too because to them they feel similar even though they are not quite the same. Honestly I think her passive is just too strong, and with slows being the new big thing in League it makes it almost impossible to dodge her ult, honestly her ults being op is more caused by what people are playing and how they are building with all the slows then by the ult itself.

i dont know what it is. i know its stereotyping, but a lot of asians tend to get obsessive over everything they do. if they set their mind to something specific, they do it until theyre either successful or it kills them. even the smallest things.
ive never heared of someone die in front of his pc from exhaustion or starvation in a western country for example (might still be happening though and i just dont know about it). but ive seen a few reports out of china about a few cases where people actually died because they didnt even stop playing videogames even to eat or to sleep. they just collapsed from exhaustion and were gone. i mean thats crazy.
and thats just one example. youll find people in china and japan who have mastered the most useless skills, because theyre doing nothing else and invest their entire life and personality into it. i think its a cultural phenomenon.

i dont expect an asian dude to develop the same behavior patterns when he grows up in europe or the u.s. the same way, a white guy who has grown up in china could probably show the same obsessive behavior over certain things.

120 second cd on his ult at all times. Let's also put out there that it's got less base and a slightly worse ratio, and at point blank has a 2 full second travel time going up to 3.motherfuckin'5 seconds at max range. Compare that to Lux's .5. Ziggs's ult is literally only used to clear minion waves.

But with it she easily destroys people.
That being said, it's low cooldown is ridiculous and should probably be one of the first things to nerf if Riot wants to nerf her.
Her Q hitbox should get some adjusting as well imo, it has Nidalee/Morgana Q syndrome.

Ratios like that are found on abilities that your goal isn't even the damage like Curse of the Sad Mummy which is AoE that can disable the entire enemy team who will soon get wiped by his own team. And even that has a higher ratio.
Also, your numbers are wrong.
The Bearded Bard1 votes500 base with 75% ratio. Passive has 154 base with a 20% ratio. Ult both triggers and applies passive, so we're at a minimum of 500 + 75% then at a maximum of 808 + 115%.

You cannot take an entire combo, pick and choose numbers from abilities, add them, and call it all Ult damage when it's not.
