When I rewatch my gameplay, I don't see anything I could fix.

This has been a problem for me for a while now. I've got some great feedback of higher elos just poking at my match history, and they always come with the mandatory "And that's without seeing you play" comment. So, I've been recording some games and putting them on a throw-away youtube channel. If anyone has some free time, I'd love some constructive feedback. Watching it over, all I can usually think is "Yup, that was a mistake. Mhm. Missed that creep. Oh, got caught out. Couldn't stop that", etc. Warning: It's a lot of watching me farm, it's very boring.

Get better mechanics and decision making in general. Your mistakes are too many to list.

disregardable2 votes

Any constructive suggestions on how to do that?

BluePolarizer1 votes

when you allowed Morg to die FB to the enemy lane, you stood behind and autoed. You should not do that. You should be kiting as you auto so that you are safe near your tower; even if you got a kill you would've been exposed and low against the enemy support or ADC (whichever you killed) and then like in the video, forced to blow flash/heal. You also healed way too late if that was to save her. You are also not abusing your superior range with rockets to harass.

The Sword Saint1 votes

When BluePolarizer says to 'kite as you auto', what he means is that you have a delay between each auto attack (your attack speed) and you should be moving somewhere OR casting abilities in between each auto since you can not auto any faster than your attack speed permits anyway. Click the enemy to auto, then click the ground to walk, then click the enemy to auto, then click the ground.

This skill is essential to adcs and is useful on other classes as well but in different ways (mages will weave spells more often then autos for example). Think of any time you clicked on an enemy who was running away to auto them and then after you auto you stood there for a second before chasing them because you waited for your champion to follow them. You could have clicked to move the INSTANT that your projectile was fired and gotten many more autos off on the fleeing target which could be the difference in getting a kill or not.

disregardable1 votes

I do stutterstep, usually just when I farm though. I've found that usually I'll mess up when I try to do it to an opponent in lane. Miss him when I try to click again and go off in a different direction. Not to mention, my goal isn't really to get a kill when I walk up to them like that in lane. This may be a b5 mistake, but I've found that they'll let me just stand there and proc my attack speed off of them for several seconds for no reason at all. I didn't think it would wind up hurting or helping too much- that time it definitely did.

The Sword Saint1 votes

It's fine to be aware of shortcomings but those are the place where you can most obviosuly improve. Once you've leveled up all the things you KNOW you need to improve, thats when it really gets hard to advance since you arent even aware of how.

The micro 'stutterstep' is extra important in actual fights because positioning is so very important - it allows you to chase or flee while dealing damage, makes it harder for the enemy to hit skillshots on you, keeps you 'warmed up' with your clicking so that you aren't flat footed at a key moment, the list goes on.

But here's something else that may get your attention - a lack of micro under pressure stands out SUPER HARD to people who are good enough to do it on muscle memory : it's effectively a give away that your mechanics aren't up to par. People who recognize that will make risky plays on you all day since they won't respect your mechanics when they would otherwise play it safer.

T RexHasTinyArms1 votes

Orb walking and auto attack cancellation are actually a huge thing as you start to move up. Even if it doesn't matter for a kill or escape it can help you take less damage in trades and that adds up over time. League is all about small advantages building into big ones.

The Sword Saint1 votes

Try running custom games with friends where you just play out a 1v1/2v2 lane. Play until some point (100 cs, first kill, tower, etc.) then end the game, have a discussion about what was good/bad and then do it again. And again. If you're lucky you have a higher elo friend who mains the same role you want to practice and they can give you a lot of good insight.

actualy no

i already made a list but clicked some crap and it all went to waste since my page switched the list was over 30 points long, you made a couple of critical fails every 2 minutes

thats whyy nobody will dedicate his time to do it, its just toooooo long next thing. your notes, i hate you just because i had to read, you are a toxic player who doesnt even try to notice what he did to his team i watched only the part 2 conclusions: you costed this team and early and free dragon, probably crippled xin by making him waste time you murdered morgana and xin couple of times, probably darius once you wasted loads of possibilities to get free kills not to mention you weak farming and constant flaming at others that they take your cs, you dont take it yourself so what is the problem here

this piles up and probably hides other problems, your gold was so crappy that we couldnt even see what will you build in this game

and the best thing of all the POTATO REFLEX, all those missed chompers, and all those times when you ate lux's binding, and those times when your teammates were getting killed by your feed and you just famred (that was mostly morgana, you could prevent most ofthose things)

and one time when you flashed from lux who just wasted all her skills, she was harmless

disregardable1 votes

You were warned that I was salty in that one. Can't blame me for you clicking on it anyway. I gave you a not-salty one too.

T RexHasTinyArms1 votes

Work on making all of your games not salty is a huge piece of advice. Any game someone is salty and I'm at 0 LP from a recent promotion is a game we are losing bc I stop paying much attention to what I'm doing in game. Also raging at teammates let's you off the hook for what you fuck up. Doesn't matter if they did bad, how do you do better? Team feeding at dragon but the entire enemy team went down there for a meal and top lane is pushed? Go take two towers and maybe an inhib while the other 9 fight and thank the team for being a distraction.

disregardable1 votes

See, I do this thing, I mute everyone and I rant into my notes file. My team never sees my saltiness, but it shows up on my videos because I use xsplit. If LolReplay actually worked, no one would ever see it.

T RexHasTinyArms1 votes

If you need to do this to process out the anger then I guess that's probably best. Personally I see feeders as a challenge to test my carry skills and try to stay focused on crushing my lane, but that's generally because I go on tilt easy as fuck and so if I let myself get mad at team instead of excited over the challenge of winning I end up playing worse. That's just my experience though. Take it for whatever it's worth, or don't, either way :D

Seeing a mistake and then jotting it down wont help, you need to watch the mistake and then evaluate what you could have done from preventing that situation in the first place.

A beginner might see a situation as:

"Wow my support got caught out and then the enemy ADC killed me cause i didnt have my support"

While a more advanced player might notice more minute details that contributed more significantly

"My support got caught out and died, and then the enemy ADC stunned me against a wall because i tried to stay instead of taking advantage of my teammates death to preventing my own."

"My support was pressuring the enemy laners but I wasn't in position to back them up or just didnt notice and react in time to turn around the enemy engagement or even trade back. Then my understanding of threat zones wasn't up to par and neither were my reflexes so I put myself in a position to be engaged on 2v1. This came as a shock to me despite the same thing happening to my support only a short while ago."

Inphernal1 votes

I watched your second video up to the 2-something minute mark when your morg got engaged on by mao and there were already tons of issues, Missed CS, standing still and autoing until you were behind both the enemy carry and support and then blowing flash+heal on escaping when you couldve just walked towards tower. This isnt meant as an insult but bronze seems to be a good place for you so far

disregardable1 votes

I didn't waste flash and heal to escape. I tried to flash to get in range of heal and heal her in time- it failed, obviously, but that was an attention issue. I hadn't noticed she was too low in time.

Angry Monster1 votes

You should not use flash like that unless you are ahead and know you are safe anyways. You are really screwing your self up by trying to blow both summoners to save an ally.

disregardable1 votes

I'll trade both summoners spells easily for Vayne not getting a kill. She got 3.3 cs/minute that game. If Morg hadn't overstayed and given her 2 free kills , she would never have snowballed. At level 9 when I max out my Q I would've officially entered the realm of "can effectively counter Vayne". Then as the one that had a semi-decent understanding of how to farm, I would've been the better adc and maybe had an impact that game. I don't really care if Morg lives. I just don't want to have to watch 3.3 cs/minute Vayne actually beat me at the game.

Angry Monster1 votes

You have to know when you need to let the other person die. You are setting your self up for a easier death for the next 5 minutes.

Your wrong again and can not see it.

disregardable1 votes

But in 5 minutes I wouldn't have died. Not if she hadn't.

Huge mistake in your item build. You didn't build Last Whisper despite being 6 items which means your damage output sucked for a full build Jinx. This is why despite being way ahead of the Sivir, she actually did more damage to champions than you did.

disregardable1 votes

I didn't build LW because none of them had armor or any defense at all. Honestly I was blowing them up already.

I didn't build LW because none of them had armor or any defense at all. Honestly I was blowing them up already.

You could not be more mistaken. Take for instance, that 36 (!!!) kill Annie that was the main carry for the enemy team. Annie has 87 base Armor at level 18. She actually built a Randuin's and Zhonya's to counter you, so that's another 120 armor. She also has Molten shield for another 50 Armor and Armor Seals for another 9. Add that up and that's 266 Armor on their main carry and you have ZERO Armor penetration. 266 armor reduces your damage to her by approximately 72.7%.

Generally speaking, EVERY champion has base armor scaling usually getting to around 80-90 by level 18 and many people run some Armor runes to get around 100. Thus, without Armor penetration, that would reduce your damage output by around 40-50% EVEN IF THEY BUILT NO ARMOR ITEMS AT ALL. You may have felt like you were "blowing them up" but the truth of the matter is that you gimped yourself and would have been killing them even faster if you had simply built a Last Whisper.

disregardable1 votes

http://matchhistory.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/#match-details/NA1/1819503255/218533396?tab=builds&participant=1

Annie didn't build that Randuins until 50 minutes into the game and the Zhonyas at 45. I had already finished my full build at 42, when none of them had armor. Should I have checked and changed it later? Probably. That's a good point. When I finished my build at 42 minutes, I was more concerned about not getting blown up than blowing people up more. I could've spared the GA for LW. I just didn't know that.

AndyChrono1 votes

Just a bit of general advice. It's not even a question whether or not to build Last Whisper - you should make it no matter what. Because of armor scaling per level on champions it's just as core as IE. The only real question is WHEN to build it. Usually

IE 1st Attack Speed item 2nd (Shiv/PD) Vamp Scepter

Then comes the choice. If the enemy already has Armor items, then you should make the Last Whisper immediately after Vamp Scepter to get the largest damage boost. If they don't have many Armor items yet, then you can finish your BotRK/BT and THEN get Last Whisper. But you should be making Last Whisper no matter what.

Last slot is usually some kind of defensive item (GA/Banshees/Merc) or you can opt for more damage if you have one of the "Protect the X" comps.

disregardable1 votes

They just didn't seem very bright, you know? They ALL went burst mage, I mean they had basically full AP Gragas for the first 40 minutes. I really didn't think they were going to build armor. For some reason. You're right, that was a stupid thought.

First, take a look in that post. http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/tips-tricks/Gg8J7fLI-collection-and-more-how-to-be-better-in-league-especially-in-ranked-queue

I just watch first 10 minutes, and there is some mistake I can point out. Maybe more, I will come back later after dinner xD

  1. Your CS skill under tower is terrible. Even when it come free pressure, it is still terrible (missing 2-3/6 CS even when no one around you).
  2. Learn to use quick cast. U die literally due to 0.5 sec delay with normal cast.
  3. Learn about the champion. Jinx have so long range with her Q, why you let Sivir play so aggressive? Moreover, her ult have bad animation, you cannot fire in straight into enemy's face. At least, hide on bush when you want to finish someone with it (I dont talk about the 1v1 situation, just the assassinate use).
  4. Learn about minions control. U behind enemy badly, while not freeze your lanes? Even when there is no vision.

Well, then keep your mouth shut. Or, chat I guess. Listen to everything going on in the team, and talk only when needed, such as "Malzahar might be going your way", or "Play safe, these guys outplay us and we can't afford to feed them".

If they don't listen, then there's your chance to report them after game and ask the other team, and possibly your own teammates, to do the same. Though, explain why in a civil fashion, don't just go, "report vi" or "report thresh for sucking". Add some examples of where they "sucked", maybe how it wasn't in fact yours or anyone else's fault, or possibly that they didn't communicate or listen to communication.

But yeah, if you just can't stop from raging, then rage. But do it in your head, not in your game. It will only make matters worse.

T RexHasTinyArms1 votes

In low elo not really. I regularly muted people on the climb from bronze 4 to silver 5. I find I do worse not muting people now than I do when I mute them and just focus on playing well. Then again I'd rather read the map and movement of my team to predict what they are doing than I would try to deal w/ someone unpleasant bc If I'm not enjoying myself while I play I'd rather not play and just leave and that shows up in my game play whether or not I stick around.

first vid

1] Alright only 4 minutes in and i can see that you have laning issues. Your terrible at csing with early lane pressure. Their is no reason for you to be zoned off the first wave like that.

2] Ken support is not trash it can work quite well as a zoner and as aoe stunner, sadly you admit too being a jerk to him in champ select and he is still trying to work with you. You are not trying to work with your support in lane. Your preconceived notions of what is good is probably not helping you. He is not trolling you by taking CS and is trying to zone. You on the other hand are not helping and only harass when they are chasing the support, which is to late.

3] ramus ganked and you stayed to CS. Taunt plus traps could of done something to get you back in the game. Also during this time your support had gone back, the enemy ADC was out of mana and was not the real threat. You failed to see harass opportunities and see the real threat that is karam.

4] you miss a lot of skill shots for the enemy not having boots.

Side note stopped at ramus gank, I think you do not understand the game as well as you think you do if i can find these issues in under 10 minutes. You are probably getting down voted for claiming not able to see these things.

disregardable1 votes

I can tell you one thing, he does not zone as well as Karma. I pulled back because Kennen literally can't do anything in laning. Karma outranges him significantly, Karma outdamages him significantly, Karma's cooldowns are lower, and Karma's utility is higher. People ask me why I didn't harass Sivir with Q- it had nothing to do with Sivir. I couldn't get near them because of Karma. Kennen had no business going in, and he was better off leaving my cs than trying to harass them. Honestly I just wanted him to leave me 1v2 and try to be useful somewhere else.

Angry Monster1 votes

I am telling you this as a gold player, You are wrong !!! Also when it comes to league you should stop thinking you know what is going on, cause you do not. The people that have filled this thread with what you are doing wrong when you said you could not see anything proves it.

They have different trade offs yes but that does not mean that karma is better. Ken can actually prepare 2 stuns on both target while karma has only 1 range harass spell. Karma uses her one distance spell and then you are still afraid. Ken is a threat through AAs also. Ken also is a energy champion

Their is just so much wrong with your style and how you play. Other people have hit many different points. Ultimately you suck at working with people and you think you are better, when probably are the one holding the team down every time.

disregardable1 votes

I don't really understand why you think what I did was wrong. If I had gone in with Kennen and let him do his stun thing, we would've both fed. They outdamaged us and we had no escapes (because he has to use his stupid ball to proc his passive). I can't stop him from feeding either way, but I can stop myself from feeding. I've always been told that not dying is the most important thing. Feed less than your enemies and you win. It works out in the majority of my games.

Angry Monster1 votes

they out damage you cause you let them. You do not know how to trade or make advantages. Your level 1 play literally set up your problems for the rest of the laning phase that i watched.

I am not an ADC coach nor a main, While i see what is wrong i am not sure how to teach you to be better. You just give up so much power in lane.

disregardable1 votes

And now we are somewhere. What should I have done at level 1 and why?

Angry Monster1 votes

alright only 4 minutes in and i can see that you have laning issues. Your terrible at csing with early lane pressure. Their is no reason for you to be zoned off the first wave like that.

I said that in the first post. Its means the exact same thing as

Your level 1 play literally set up your problems for the rest of the laning phase

You only last hit, You do not understand wave balance and wave pressure. They are getting level 2 and almost 3 before you level 2. I am sry but everything you did in lane was wrong. Your early game needs to be relearned its so season 2. You are letting them force you back.

disregardable1 votes

Yes, that is what happens when you play passively. You stay close to turret, so you get minions later than they do, so you level up more slowly. That in itself isn't going to make them able to 2v2 you. You're the second person that's complained that I don't freeze the wave against a karma and sivir. I can't freeze the wave if they don't let me. Literally both of them are using (higher damage) abilities and auto-attacking to clear. I can't keep up, so I can't freeze.

"You were wrong" isn't constructive feedback. I do not need you to tell me I was wrong. Losing lane in itself is proof of that. I've made it abundantly clear that I don't know what else I could've done. This is where I was hoping the high elo player comes in and says, "You should've done X instead to win the lane, because X reason, X reason, and X reason".

Angry Monster1 votes

Actually your wrong is constructive feedback. I am telling you that what you are saying is wrong. People are going to tell you that you are wrong and then you should sit down and like a big boy think of ways to improve. Not sure why you think people have to tell you how to fix your problem. The fact of the matter is we already addressed the problem that you could not see that you were doing things wrong in the first place.

Non constructive feed back, is that your a troll and the way you play is so bronze. The difference is i am telling you what you are doing wrong. I am just not giving you the answer to your problems.

Yes, that is what happens when you play passively. You stay close to turret, so you get minions later than they do, so you level up more slowly

wrong and bad strategy. This leads to losing the early game. I am terrible ADC (for my elo) and i know when this state happens i lost control and its my fault. I am not a prefect player but i know when i mess up and what states that I do not want the game in.

I can't freeze the wave if they don't let me

No you need to learn how to. It is countable or meet-able. This is part of growing as league player adapting. What you are doing is not working, so time to change it up. No one is going to let you do anything. It is up to you to figure out how.

I have an honest suggestion. Custom Games. Just you and 9 other bots. Pick the others legitimately. And then just play. Yes it is a game where you get no credit. Yes you will probably think you are wasting time. It isn't wasting time to just simply practice your mechanics. Get the feel for the movement of your champ. Change your hotkeys as well if needed. I don't use QWER. I found that to be uncomfortable for me. So I changed all my keys. I do ASDF GV. It works best for me. In a custom game you can just screw around to feel out your play. Practice your minion control and your movement. You can do so much when there is absolutely no pressure for the outcome. Sure the lane matchups won't be right, there won't be a jungler. You get the time to just play and learn your style. Not saying you need to play Custom only for hours on end, but you can learn a lot in them.
