Top Lane Vi Or Jungle Vi?

Currently i'm maining Shaco and am doing pretty well but there are those games where people will dodge/intent feed/afk literally ONLY because I picked Shaco. In order to avoid this I would like to pick up another hard main which I would really like to be Vi

I don't usually like going to moba fire and such for builds so I figure I ask here

  1. Top or Jungle?
  2. Runes
  3. Masteries
  4. Items to build
  5. Skill maxing order

Currently I have my own special Tank Shaco build for when we need one and an assassin shaco build for when the enemy has a sated jungler and I need to counter them early on a ton. So i'm flexible on build paths when needed

I really enjoy Vi's character and kit and own her 3 current skins (Neon Strike is Bae) I have some people tell me she's really good top lane then others say she's best in jungler while some say to go warrior some say cinder and others say devourer (But I hate devourer the time spent farming is time could've spent helping the team get a lead)

Vi is definitely better in the jungle IMO. Her engage top lane is just super telegraphed and easy to stop, and in general she works best with the element of surprise.

Vi is a very versatile jungler, able to go warrior, cinderhulk, or devourer effectively. She does typically need at least a bit of defense to work properly since she is an all-in dive type champion, however.

Her runes are fairly standard. AD, armour, MR, etc. Put some attack speed in there if you want. Not much to say.

Masteries can be 21/9/0 (my preferred set up for most champs like her), or 9/21/0 if you think you need to be a super tank.

She can actually build literally full tank with cinderhulk or warrior and be effective. Triforce is always good on her because she benefits from basically every stat it grants her. Black Cleaver is a good offense item for cinderhulk or warrior Vi, and Titanic Hydra I'd imagine is great for CinderVi. If you go Devourer you probably want a Blade of the Ruined King. Defense items are obvious. Merc's Treads or Ninja Tabi depending on game (maybe swifties idk). Randuin's Omen, Banshee's Veil, Thornmail if stacking armour, Deadman's Plate is probably good. Sterak's Gage probably synergizes well with her if you built Triforce for sexier Sheen procs and more survivability.

For skills, unless you are ganking at level 2, you take your Q last at level 3, but max it first. Start with W in the jungle. What you max second and last is variable, but I generally prefer maxing E.

I don't main Vi (mostly because I main top lane, where I don't think she is that good), but go ahead and use her if you like her, totally. She seems to be a solid pick no matter what the meta.
