Remember when you could actually run out of energy on energy based champs?

Remember when champs with no resources could be punished shortly after wasting their CD's because they're supposed to be long?

Remember when landing 1/5 abilities didn't mean you still killed someone?

Remember how champs didn't get 2+ forms of mobility on low cds with possible resets to said mobility?

Not even people who watch the LCS Riot caters so hard to wants this crap constantly flooding the game.

Really wish we could go back to where being a tank meant you could survive more than 2 seconds or being a RANGED CARRY meant you didn't have mobility and cc or resets Tristana triggered

This game has become such a shitshow and thanks to them removing all the games modes they make it just makes it even worse. Really wish more a big company would come out with a good game that can compete with this on replay ability if it wasn't for games being such ass that come out i'd have never come back out of boredom

Other than the energy thing what are they exaggerating on?????

Don't worry I'll wait.

Please, show me a clip where you land one ability out of five on a full health opponent and kill them.

No autoattacks, no ignite, no rune interactions, one ability = one kill.

Seriously, show me. I challenge you to defy me and prove me wrong. The only scenario where this might happen is in the case of someone being insanely fed (20+ kills) with a huge item and experience lead after they pounce on someone who has no defenses built. Even then, you still probably need to weave in an autoattack or two.

Remember how champs didn't get 2+ forms of mobility on low cds with possible resets to said mobility?

Yuumi Kaisa Neeko Ornn Xayah

Of the past 10 champion releases, 5 of them don't meet this criteria. Many of them only have one form of mobility that is tied to their engage or CC abilities. Keep in mind that a slight MS boost (such as Neeko's W) is not considered a mobility spell by most of the community.

You can stop waiting now.

edit: been 6 days, still nothing. nice

Sucction19 votes

Hm no. Tristana has had the same ult and W since the game came out pretty much, and energy champs have always kept energy provided they're played well to regenerate it with their kit.

OtterlyLost3 votes

I was just thinking, hasn't Tristana had her jump and been in the game since like the beginning of the game? [sg-lux-2] She's literally in the group of original champion. Why is this getting as many upvotes as it is.

Leetri9 votes

Because complaining about the game and saying it was better before is guaranteed free upvotes even if it's blatantly false.

OtterlyLost1 votes

Yeah. For that matter, he says he wants to go back to before ADCs had CC too. Wtf is Ashe? She's literally been here forever. .-. In the same or similar iteration. Just what.

Heckin Support1 votes

I feel like he means the reset on the jump, it wasn't always in the game.

OtterlyLost4 votes

No, but its been there since patch 0.9.22 according to her Wiki. So literally only a little bit after the Alpha... .-.

V0.9.22.15 ◾ Rocket Jump Rocket Jump ◾ Decreased damage to 70 / 115 / 160 / 205 / 250 from 60 / 120 / 180 / 240 / 300. ◾ Increased cooldown to 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 seconds from 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 / 12. ◾ Cooldown is now refreshed on champion kill/assist.

Source: https://leagueoflegends.fandom.com/wiki/Tristana In her patch History.

So its been here for a long as time. He's basically saying he wants to go back to the alpha of the game, lul.

Heckin Support2 votes

Oh, maybe I was thinking of reset on exploding her bomb? I could've sworn they did something to her jump after her rework.

OtterlyLost1 votes

I don't know. I admit I never played old Tristana. I do know that, at one point, she had a reset on her bomb but that was removed not long after her rework; right at the end of season 5. She used to reduce the CD on her E and Q if she was using her Q on a target with an E on them. It was actually nice and let her kit have a lot more fluidity and be less CD gated as a hyper carry. I can also see why they would remove it but I feel like if they'd reduced the over all damage of her bomb, its inclusion was fine.

Heos003 votes

Yeah the tristana example is actually pretty bad lol, to be honest at this point every adc should have at least 1 form of dash or blink since every new champion that is being released has at least 1 form of mobility and when you put a champion with a dash and all the CDR that is now in the game is like playing urf, even Tristana has a bad time vs all that mobility and cdr so she basically dies by getting AoE'd or dashed by someone lel

Is that or just lower all CDR and mobility when it was back in season 3 and keep adc's like adc's.

OtterlyLost1 votes

Fairly true. Like a lot of people hyper focus on the fact she has a dash and that it resets. But no one likes to look at how its a 22 second CD without a reset.

Adcs should have very little or no mobility.

Examples like Lucian and Jinx are fine, Kai'Sa is not.

Heos001 votes

Also bruisers and assassins shouldn't have little cooldowns, dashes and still doing more damage than an adc, but here we are, with bad champion and game design/planificaction in an attempt to make it more "fun", less "strategical" and "shorter game duration" so casual people can play it, but it does the opposite tbh i don't know how the game right now is noob and casual friendly.

If this was true, ADCs wouldn't be picked though.

Instead, short of Yasuo, they're in 99% of games.

Kennen remember? no can't remember

Zero Skill Tank1 votes

Well, maybe you cant remember, but Kennen's most basic E+R combo used to cost 150 energy at all levels.

Today E goes down to 80, and R is always free.

So even if Kennen always used to be able to say in lane forever, even in her case managing energy became insanely easier over the years.

ZaFishbone8 votes

The nostalgia filter is strong in this one.

PimpStickNasus4 votes

Lee sin is the only energy champion where it feels impossible to run out of energy on, shen usually doesn’t either. Shen has to manage it a little bit, and lee just has to auto. Never played kennan so don’t know about him.

Eonslegacy1 votes

Kennen runs outa energy with just eqw q 60 cost, w 40, e 100, he has 200 max energy he ooe after 1 rotation. HOWEVER, his moves cost less energy per point in them. At max lvl you can q 40, w 40, e 80 use 1 more q than before. But like, cooldowns are faster than energy regin at that point so you really ooe fast on him. Unless you are in a teamfight, because the R team stun refreshes up to 125 energy.

Ionian Vulpix1 votes

Doesn't he also gain some energy back when ramming someone with his E?

You forget hjs lightning dash also refunds i think at least half of its cost if he hits anything with it and whenever he gets a stun he gets energy back. So yeah, kenne players hitting abilities dont run out of energy but those that miss do which is fine by me

ChiefDovahkin4 votes

All the energy champs seem to be balanced around getting 2-3 rotations before going oom (or is it ooe?). It is pretty obnoxious and it let's champs like akali miss a q and still have another chance to go in 4 seconds later.

Harden Stepback3 votes

Not really.. energy champs have always been OP. There is no semblance of mana management anymore though.

The Kombinator3 votes

"Remember when champs with no resources could be punished shortly after wasting their CD's because they're supposed to be long?" Pretty much all lately reworked/new champ are have so low costs, that they can spam all day without running out of resource. Pyke missed hook 3 times? Another 20 incoming!

"Remember how champs didn't get 2+ forms of mobility on low cds with possible resets to said mobility?" Melee were always had some of the catchups. They need it to reach the ranged. Tryndamere Riven LeeSin Katarina Jax JarvanIV these champs are not exactly new, and they all capable to jump freely, or on friends/wards beside enemies. They all got great engage/escape.

What truly changed is the damage, and survivability. If you need 10 seconds to kill someone, then your mobility matters a lot less. You have to stick around anyway. If you need 1, then your mobility can save you from retaliation.

Another side effect of the damage is the counter mechanism. Back in the day farming under turret was pretty much always possible. You picked Garen, and enemy has Kennen? Put in the anti-magic runes, start with magic res, and afk-farm under turret. Now there is no anti-magic runes, and getting defense ain't worth anything. He still kills, or force you to recall 5 times before 10. minutes.

Another side effect is the need for skillshots. If you can shoot 20 times before oom, and need to hit 15 times to beat down an enemy, then you need one hell of an accuracy. If you only need 4 hit, then even 20% is enough. My accuracy with Xerath is pathetic. I barely used so far. Yet i can win botlane 100% of the time with it. Simply because that little hit is enough. Simply because if i just hit enemy every 5. time is enough. The reason i lose games with it is, because the game is more than just Lane Phase. And in teamfights there is an assassin in most cases who just jumps on me, and oneshot. And even if i survive with emergency they just come in half minute for the next round while i'm on CD.

musixxal2 votes

akali and zed are probably the only ones that have to wait for energy while executing correctly.

But yeah, everything new is overloaded now.

are you one of the poor souls who went against SoloRenektonOnly in his AD illaoi game? XD though probably not, just seemed kinda funny

Yuumi is a problem champ. She Makes all Fighters INSANELY hard to kill.

Throw her on Urgot Jax Aatrox Amumu Darius DrMundo Garen Gragas Graves Illaoi Kayn Kled LeeSin MasterYi Nasus Nocturne Olaf Pantheon Qiyana Renekton Rengar Riven Sion Udyr Vi Vladimir Volibear Warwick MonkeyKing XinZhao Yasuo Yorick

and they can 2v8

OtterlyLost1 votes

Any support can make fighters insanely hard to kill; the main difference is that Yuumi can't be picked off first. Fighters as a class, with a dedicated support, are absolutely degenerate.

The only energy champ I have a problem with is Akali

Getting hit by 2 Q's for having the audacity to be in the general range of your caster minions without have the option to retaliate is awful. When the frustration finally kicks in or you advance passed your caster minions, she becomes untargetable which enables her to dump more Q's and E's into you.

They can nerf her numbers all they want, what makes her frustrating to play against is the agency she takes away from anyone fighting her.

Play zed. Lol.

lets not forget she gets displacement immunity during the cast time of her dash, AND defers CC while in her dash animation, just like Ez (iirc)
