Is there a reason Muramana does physical damage?

Long ago, item 3042 did magic damage. But then Ryze before several reworks, was an absolute monster with this item. His spells could proc it like 10 times very quickly. So Riot made it do physical damage instead.

If it did magic damage again, the same old champs can still use it, but the doors to mages opens.

Ahri Brand Camille Cassiopeia Diana Ekko Elise Ezreal Fizz Leblanc Lux Maokai Nidalee Syndra

My question is, should it still do physical damage?

Item logic. Gives AD, so make it deal physical

why when archangel is here

it doesn't do the same on-hit single target damage

Do we want Ezreal to be a nightmare? And Fizz, lol. No thanks, this idea would be horrible to balance.

More on Ezreal, you're making him impossible to itemize against. AD would be even more superior to AP than it is now because some of his on-hit would be magic damage. He'd be a stronger version of Corki.

i build it on ap ezreal its very strong item giving you tons of hybrid damage from gunblade+muramana you can have up to like 300 ad later in the game while also rocking 650-700+ ap depending on how many infernals you got.

I think it's supposed to be just niche option for ad casters with single target spells (ez, nid). the passive doesnt work on aoe spells though so it wouldnt help ap caster's like lux.
