Twisted treeline became garbage after they removed the topside jungle and wards.

Pretty much title. I remember years back when i had a squad for 3s back in s1 and we actually had to strategize in order to win. People were contesting ebonmaw as early as 5 minutes into the game. So much action. Jungling was also very interesting as you were always jungling in very close proximity to the other jungler. When fights broke out over dragon we'd sometimes get 3v3 battles topside because the biff was actually a big deal.

I think the reason why the current treeline is dying is because they actually just watered down the game by replacing the dragon with what is essentially a baron. And getting rid of the cool topside camps. Original TT would still be going strong if it stayed.

I played twisted treeline hundreds of times before they reworked it. I think ive played it like 5 times since.

There's not really any strategic decision making over which objectives you should take, which is why it absolutely sucks.

the towers and the one singular objective that is vilemaw. now rito is wondering why no one is playing it and considering making it an RGM.

Damn that's deep dude (even though it's completely true)

They messed up the gamemode and just left it to die.

I miss old 3s as well.

It was super fun. But rito didn't like that so few played it so they changed it into something nobody plays.

Agree, the main issue with the new one is that the lack of visioion and the small jungle lead to heavy snowballing. As soon as you get ahead enough to clearly win 3v3, you can totally take over the entire jungle while controlling the lanes, completely starving your opponents of both, gold and xp. There is no real reason to split up, the map is small enough that you can farm both lanes and the entire jungle while running around as 3 once you have some items and there are no real objective other than the altars that lie directly on the way, makeing them more a 'win more' thing that you grap once it's opportune rather than a contested objective. Veilmar also is more to help closeing games rather than actually give an strategic objective. There is also no real vision game, you either randomly bump into opponents in the dark or siege a tower.

The bigger map and two jungles allowed scaleing teams room to avoid early fights, buying time to scale, it allowed teams that were behind to catch up in farm if they kept their defensive vision controll, and thx to the red buff on bot side and the dragon top, you still had enough reason to go for early fights and have direct confrontation. The bigger distance between lanes also made roams(especially those of certain champsLissandra ) less potent and allowed to actually win a lane without haveing to win the 3vs3 aswell, and it made splitpushing an actuall option.

the changes back when where actually a clear pointer to the current situation where TT might become a mode for RGM. It was watered down to a fast paced mode that is more apealing to casuals so riot doesn't have to really care about balanceing or stuff as it's a'hur dur funmode' rather than a really competetive mode, at least so it seems in the context of the recent revelations.

Bro just decided to play my ranked placements in the gamemode and i got to say it utter trash, i didnt get the chance to play the old one cuz i started playing in s5 but my main complaints are:

-only 1 objective on an objective based game is retarded;

-the map is so god damn small that as much as 1 kill in the wrong hands and you lost, its incredibly snowbally, u cant farm the jungle if everytime u step into it there are 2 ppl who are ahead in gold in a bush;

-no vision, this makes the mode based on sheer luck, if u are lucky u get to enter the jungle with your anus intact, if you are not ... well ... "DEMACIAAAA!!!";

-no one plays it so the match making is complete garbage, in one game i got put with a guy who played incredibly well and carried me easily (also i got a bit fed), a couple games afterwards, our top laner LITERALLY played with locked screen with sound turned off with minimap disabled (when i asked why he didnt react to pings he answered me he played in locked screen, then i asked y not look at the minimap, he sai he disabled it, i asked why not react to the soun of the pings, sound was turned off).

-3v3 means 1 person ints/afks and you lose 100% no way u can comeback with a third of your team gone, specially on such a small map.

-Since no one cares about it except some recent lvl 30s/ ppl who have bad internet connections and dont want to risk afking in a SR/ ppl who want to try shit out (im usually this one) so thats all that u find in games. It is rare for a game to not have an afk, an intentional feeder, a bot, or someone who thinks buying 6 nashors teeth on garen is op.

I couldnt even stand playing the 10 placements, the amount of cancer i got with just a few games was too much for me, and im an avid lol player.
