Why solo ranking is hit and miss

I've noticed that my experiences with league are very one side or the other.

Either OUR team becomes very single minded, only focusing on kills and not on team work or objectives.

OR we work together, making plays that might not get us all the kills but that, in the end, are better for the team as a whole.

Most games are won with the later, and only few are successful with the former.

The plain and simple fact is that most players are selfish, we all need to adapted the mentality of the support. The support is unpopular because it requires you to be selfless. Your job is not to kill but to help your team get kills and this is a thought that most players hate. We all want the all powerful feeling of being a 10/0 fed master yi or ADC or Top/mid/jg etc. We want to feel like we are the MVP, the VIP on the team. The getting all the kills, carrying the team on our back.

The truth is that we are nothing without our team. Sure we can try to 1v5 the other team but its much easier to just work together for the win.

The games we win are won by working together, communicating, picking champions that work well together. Helping eachother when we can and when smart.

I think the easiest way for league to become a better community is to help US as players realize that we are not the LCS pro of every match we play, the moment we tell ourselves, "I can't win without you and me working together", is the moment we start to move away from the extremely toxic nature and selfish gameplay of our community.

The problem with the NA environment is that we celebrate the individual more than the team. We care about stats and highlights more than team success. In football, basketball, baseball, and hockey, our four major sports, we root for players not teams.

I was taught to root for the laundry and not the name on the laundry. Jim Leyritz was as important as Jeter, and Ramiro Mendoza was as important as Rivera. Most people today root for the star and don't care about the players around him that make him look good. Cam Newton looked great this past year, but when his supporting players got over matched in the Super Bowl, he looked like a rookie against the Bronco Defense.

Simply put, teams win but players lose...

Bro thats bronze talk. Its the unspoken bronze talk that all the bronze players know, but disregard it completely god knows why.
