So when does renekton fall off?

I literally just lost 5v4 (Garbage graves but that's not the point) To an ahead renekton carrying. He even did most damage in the game. Like where do you stop him. Where does he fall off? Because he was dominant for 28 minutes straight

He falls off the second people realize you can blow his ass up... and he starts having to build tank. Literally a Morg Q into a Cait trap and he'll explode if he isn't building tank. He's super easy to kite, isn't all that tanky if he's building any damage items, and only does solid damage if you group up inside his Q range.

To counter Renekton you don't get tankier.. you just build more damage and kill him. Just like a Yi, Xin, Firoa, ect. Dead crocs aren't very scary. Land a CC and watch him explode. If your team can't kill him inside 2 seconds if he is snowballing with damage items... it isn't the Renekton that's the problem. Fiora/Riven would have already gotten gold from your nexus.

At the end of the day Renekton is just a worse Riven. Treat Renektons R like Rivens E and play around it. Except Renekton's gonna be out of it a LOT longer than Riven will. Renekton is less mobile, less CC, less burst, WAY less dps, crap escapes, and generally only strong in lane vs certain champs.

If Renekton is building tanky... odds are the game is already won. If he's snowballing that probably mean both mid AND jungle lost as well or your team made a really dumb dragon call when the 3/0 Renekton had TP up. Any game is likely lost with any top laner if only your bot lane is doing well.. unless you have Twitch/Vayne.... cause adc 2017 yo. Farm, don't die for objectives you won't get, and eventually he's either blown up by the ADC, or starts having to get tanky/fall off. Renekton's base damage values are actually pretty crappy so he becomes a non-issue.

I've had a Ren dive me as Jhin, 20 minutes into the game, and retreat because he was both doing no damage and getting wrecked.

It's all about your laning phase. He will fall off immediately if you beat him to your first item. He will never fall off if you consistantly lose to him.

When he starts getting chain CC'd every team fight, and gets frustrated and proceeds to just split push or build mostly tank and become a CC/damage absorber.

It depends really.

If he's snowballing it won't seem like he's falling off, but if he's behind it wont seem like he's the bully he's meant to be. If everyone stays equal his main purpose will diminish over time. Also depends on who he is scaling against. Of course as a Diver who generally builds item 3071 item 3748 item 3193 item 3047 /item 3111 into more tank he will deal damage to squishes and be able to duel tanks but he won't deal as much damage as a assassin, adc, or mage or be able to tank as much as a tank.

I feel his core build is what seems strong, Ren has always been at least a A-Tier Top laner and as Riot stated back in Season 4, they want him to be the gate keeper in the top lane. J4 basically builds the same thing and he also is a upper echelon top laner atm.

Renekton is actually on-par or worse than many champs he "bullies" in lane until he gets items. But if you give him a 2 kill advantage, he can basically 1v2 when he has ult. He is weak all game long if you can keep extended trades up vs him, but wins quick trades in most matchups. He is best around 2-3 items; after that, it's just falling off. The only way he looks good after that point is if he's 1-2 items and some levels ahead of everyone else.
